Leslie,
I think you're probably right... Seeing the pictures that DBCP posted- it doesn't look like a whole heckuva lot going on at CCMR.
I tend to agree with those that are saying this new coaster won't extend beyond the old WWL site... but I am hoping it will, and I still think it is feasible.
Compared to some of the other ideas out there... having it go thorough antique cars and maybe CCMR on its way to the island isn't too incredibly far fetched.
I just cant see the point in putting in a coaster that is just average by today's standards. I can't help but think there will be something noteworthy about this ride that we can't see yet.
Walt,
I know, I was just kiddin' around.

OK, somebody please fill me in on the original CCMR entrance. I've been going to the park since 1979, and I always remember it being where it is now. Is the gemini/tornado comment a "magnum sinking" kind of joke, or was there really a tornado that did damage to the park?
Well, that would be because the tornado hit in 1977, which is when the entrance was moved, so that would be before you ever visited.

A tornado strikes the northwest tip of the Cedar Point peninsula. It moved across Frontiertown and Camper Village and then out over Lake Erie. Five rides were damaged including Shoot-the-Rapids, CP&LE Railroad, and the Cedar Creek Mine Ride. The storm hit at 7:45pm and, although the park was open, all rides were shut down. At Camper Village, 15 cars were damaged or destroyed and, in Frontiertown, several dozen trees were uprooted. Also in Frontiertown several buildings were damaged including the Jitney Arcade and the Emporium. A portion of trees that were scheduled to be removed for the construction of Gemini were also uprooted. The park opened the next day with 50 of the 55 rides operated and Frontier Town closed. A total of 15 people were injured (June 30)

i first rode mine ride in 1973 and i'd swear there has only been one entrance all these years. perhaps i am wrong but i'd like an answer from a old timer like pete or oldcperson.

No. It's the original entrance that has been boarded up. :) I think if you walk through the line and look in that direction you can parts of the original path.
