I don't always go to Cedar Point on a Saturday, but when I do, I buy fast lane plus. Seriously though, which days of the week are the least crowded?
Hey, does anyone else have the problem where they push down your lap bar on SV, but then it pops up a little if you move?

^Weekdays (particularly mid-week) are less crowded than weekends in general, although this time of year is peak season, so don't expect walk-on rides outside of the first hour or two.
And as for that "problem," that just sounds like a good time, if you're asking me.

So if I'm looking to go to cedar point all day, then I should gun for Wednesday? Or Tuesday?
It's a problem because the ride hosts can't dispatch the train because they have to push the bar down more on me. I actually did have a ride where the lap bar went down another level on me, which was painful.

Since we are now into the Independence Day holiday rush, TSA advised today may be their busiest day ever, it appears their will not be 3 train operation for the 4th Of July celebrations at CP.
I again, go back to thinking this will not be fixed until after regular season is over and perhaps in time for Halloweekends.
New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
If they are running the 3rd train and they have scheduled early ride closers ending July 12th, isn't it possible they could be trying to run 3 trains before the end of the year? I think there is a chance that things won't go as planned but I don't see them deferring work to the off season.
Say NO to Maverick!
By end of regular season I was referring to daily operations before weekend only begins.

Right now I am more concerned about the line jumping I've witnessed happen. Because the queue is in the infield, you cannot find a ride entrance host to address the issue and they have no idea what is going on in the queue line. My most recent experience involved 8 teenagers who were fighting with a husband/wife that they cut in front of, it got ugly. With the long wait and slow moving line people are getting frustrated, I think it would behove the park to have a security stand with a police officer overlooking the infield queue or have a ride host in there just to keep tabs on what is going on. If not, then handing out numbered tickets might be the answer to keep everyone in line...Six Flags did it when Batman:The Ride debuted back in the 1990's to eliminate line jumping...if you were out of sequence you didn't ride.
Maybe the heat was a deterrent for the main park, it was less packed today than it was yesterday. I couldn't believe I was able to re ride Millennium Force through the alternate access gate at the 6 o' clock hour. Water park was pretty packed though I guess. I would say weekdays would be less crowded but this Friday here showed otherwise. If you can avoid Saturdays, I would recommend that much.
But yeah what I learned from last year the weekdays in July even will be just more busy than what it is normally the rest of the year, the peak season is coming. How filled will the SV queue go I wonder, it might be tough to find waits less than 2.5 hours (unless they get 3 trains going).
Sacrificing playing video games to ride roller coasters.
Back in 2004 line jumpers beat up a woman at Valleyfair in the line for Steel Venom. It is important to have security.

I posted this a few days ago. If the Steel Vengeance is running today; I would like to know how long the line is during the day? Yesterday it was Running and Broken down many times during the day. The waiting Line was 1 Hour 30 minutes most all day long. If many people go today with a 100 degree temp. That is why I went yesterday. Thank You!!
I guess asking this is taboo. Because having an issue now means you need to be made whole.
But RideMan with all the issues Maverick and TTD have had and continue to have. Do you think down the road this ride will have the same issues, or is this simply growing pains? After having the pleasure to ride SV the first week of opening season I've been puzzled how this ride is having so many issues, if anything it would be the structure or something to do with the crazy forces this ride puts you through. Instead its the breaks, programming or the MCBR.
I'm confused and I doubt anyone actually has the answer but it's worth asking.

Not sure what changed or when, but there used to be security milling around the queues for the star attractions most of the time.
I see a ton of security usually roaming the park, but mid day you might have A good percentage of your attendance in queues. Always thought it made more sense for them to at least have a few where the people are at, so patrolling the queues if they are full.

These problems are common for any new ride that gets installed. I remember valravn going down a lot (not quite as much as SV) its opening season. Same with Banshee at Kings Island. Those two rides are some of the most reliable coasters now. Maverick actually has been doing really well this year relative to normal, but Top Thrill Dragster will always just be a pain. I’d imagine next year will be much much better. RMC installed brand new prototype trains and brakes on this coaster, so we shouldn’t expect everything to go smoothly. The fact that the trains were out running the brake run on SV and Twisted Timbers seems very odd though. Remember that i305 literally had to retrack the first turn because people kept blacking out, they had to install water sprayers because the wheels were literally melting.
SV ruins all other rides.
Almost every ride will have some problems when it is new. As bad as Dragster is today, it was far worse the first 5 seasons or so that it is today. It was completely closed half its opening season, and had many days that it didn't open at all for several seasons after that. Skyhawk had lots of problems its debut year as well, only running one of the two swings for most of the season. I have no reason to think that Steel Vengeance won't get better in the future. Cedar Point has done a good job at keeping the ride running, albeit at a reduced capacity.

All 3 trains were running some steel lateral wheels for some reason (2 trains at a time). It produces a horrible squeaking noise similar to a wood coaster. The ride was insanely fast though.
SV ruins all other rides.
Finally got to ride this thing last week and I echo the sentiments of everyone that this is the best coaster I have ever ridden. Actually took my breath away. Also caused my back pocket to unvelcro and my wallet fell out, luckily they found it and I got it back the next morning. I got to attend the pass holder ert Tuesday night and they gave us the first rider T-shirt’s, which was awesome because they certainly didn’t have to do so. Overall a fantastic trip and a fantastic ride.
