Speils

Does anyone know any mantis speils. I know that tait knows some good ones.
Newbie has a question... what's a speil?
It's the set of saftey instructions that the ride operaters give over the microphones before they start the ride.ex: "Welcome to the [insert name if ride here] please remain seated keeping all hands, arms and legs inside the car at all times.please secure all loose and valuable articles for [insert park name here] is not responisble for anything lost or damaged so sit up right hold on tight and enjoy your ride on [insert name of ride here]
Spiels at a lot of parks are usually automated and/or very short and boring.  Most of the time at CP (there are a few rides that are exceptions for some reason), the spiels are longer and generally more fun - especially once the person on the mic is comfortable with it.  I know I had the Magnum spiel memorized before I processed in, but I was still so nervous the first bunch of times that I did it.  Instead of just giving safety instructions, the person on spiels might give the stats of the ride or some other interesting tidbit.  My spiel was generally pretty much the same each time although some people vary it.  Usually there will be someone different on spiels every half hour so that it doesn't get too repetitive.

Spiels are a lot of fun! As long as you stick to the basic rules of spielling you won't get in trouble. It is however nerve wracking the first couple times you give your spiels but after you get used to sayin them!

Guy starts stripping his shirt off after getting off the train and putting on a show on the unload side of our platform...

"This is Magnum, not your personal changing room!" :)

And then there was Andy from in controls at the end of the night when Magnumdan or someone came up as the last rider and a few more people came up after jumping through the bushes.

"Line jumping is not a sporting event at Cedar Point.  Enjoy your ride HOME!"

i remember riding the iron dragon.. before we left he said.. "welcome..this ride does...not one....not...two..but.......NOT ANY LOOPS.. during the duration of this ride" lol and then when we got back he said "WELCOME BACK FROM THE MILLENIUM FORCE" hah
If you enjoyed your ride on Mantis, please stand up.
I like that one Joe E. it's clever.
yeah Melissa, poor Mikey would get a bit annoying on the mic...remember "enter the train enter the train enter the train train train" And "You yellow line stander!!" Carrie could not stand him, I thought he was funny. And Chad saying, "We're not the mantis, so don't stand up" (almost as if he was singing that Emenim song. Jill, "Welcome back riders how was your RIIIIIIIDE?" Alexis, "enjoy your ride....in the dark!"  "Enjoy the ride where you can see the only view of our nude beach."  Some good times I had some interesting ones on Mean Streak this summer too, if I recall....

I dig that joe e. So getting back to the ORIGINAL question. Does anyone know any mantis speils? Way too many magnum crew in this! :)
Paddlewheel has the best spiel hands down, I mean cmon, where else can you hear someone leading a boat full of white old midwestern people in a sing along of Outkast's "Miss Jackson"? Huh Ray???

Ah spiels...Mikey was hilarious.  I had a few good ones in my day.  I'll have to get the creative juices flowing for Mean Streak, albeit within proper boundaries.

Well Adam....I only worked at Mantis for a week, be me, loving to speil, learned them pretty well.....here goes.....(Tait did have the best speils by far!) "Welcome to Mantis, please find your seat, but do not sit down, if you have any loose or valuable articles, please place them in the open white box on the unload side of the platform. Please be advised that Cedar Point is not and will not be held responsible for any items lost or damaged while you ride. Please remain standing, feet flat to the floor, knees straight, heels kicking the back of the train........ Please stand up. (this last little phrase was spoken more than anything on that ride, let me tell you) If you are having trouble with your seatbelt, do not worry, a ride host or hostess will be around to help you shortly. Once a ride host has checked your seatbelt, please do not touch, play with or flip your seatbelt. If you are sitting, please stand, if you are bouncing, please stop, because your seats will lock in 3-2-1. Your seats are now locked. We're going to take you up 145 feet, drop you 137 feet at a 52 degree angle, we'll turn you upsidedown 4 different times in 4 different ways on 3,900 feet of tubular steel track. You're clear and out of here, see you in 2 minutes and 42 seconds, enjoy your ride on Mantis!' Is that what you were looking for Adam? If I woulda known, I could have speiled for you this weekend...I mean, there were enough Employees there!!! (I'm sure that Shannon would have too.....)
