Space Spiral Not Closed Just Yet?

I am glad I am not the one that has to wash to windows on Space Spiral!!!

On a side note. I have been going to Cedar Point since like 1970 and am pretty sure I was never on Space Spiral

I just noticed in the pics that the windows didnt break! Talk about tough glass!LOL

The windows were not glass, they were plexiglass. Thats why they were scratched and hazy.

Sad day in the history of Cedar Point. I ride every major ride in the park - every visit - and Space Spiral was always a must ride and a highlight. Now it's history. Progress and necessity had been chipping away at my park since the removal of the Frontier lift. It's odd to feel the Cedar Point I love is now more history than reality. That said, the demolition footage is cool and I'm grateful it was made public. It's a historic moment to ad to my collection. I'm looking forward to GateKeeper and I don't feel it has anything to do with Spiral's demolition. Both ride would have been so much better if they were able to coexist. What a view of the new ride that would have been had they improved on the experience instead of just throwing the towel. I hope the future brings something truly great and imaginative that makes present day CP outshine it's glorious past. I'd rather look forward than back, but I don't feel the park is gaining or improving as much as it's just coasting on the fact that we all love roller coasters.

Well if you look at the pics of the ride now. I would say it is just a little fixer upper, a little paint and windex, the ride should be put back up in no time.

Funny, I think I may have taken the last pic of Space Spiral. I took one last night when I rode by the park and yesterday as well. Funny thing though last night the aviation lights were on. I concluded I would ride it friday for one last time until I saw the video this morning. Happy I snapped those pics yesterday

Yeah, they are actually piecing it back together just so you can ride it again. Better yet, I think they are actually moving it to your back yard, so you can ride it all you want. Warranty not included.

The offer includes Chaos too, I'm sure.

Wonder what Dorney Park thinks about seeing the video of its "new" ride for next year? :)

There are several videos that show space spiral's demolition, even one here on the site's homepage, and on CP's official website. Spiral was knocked down yesterday morning. I'm sorry, but you wont be able to ride it anymore. The park has plenty of rides for your grandkids to enjoy.

There is windseeker, you can ride that.

I think Cedar Point is going to get a new observation tower ride in the future. I'm sure intamin could make a good one without foggy windows.

But, could they make one that ran without issues right out of the gate.
