They need to paint SS camo. That would look cool. For ID just blow up the sucker! Its a waste of space. You could put a really cool coaster in ID'S spot.

I'm pretty sure at one point, probably the bi-centenial year of 1976, the cabin of the Space Spiral was red on the top, white in the middle, and blue on the bottom.

Actually, the main focus for Cedar Point during the bi-centenial year of 1976 was the Corkscrew. Hence the blue track, white supports, plus now the cars are red, white, and blue.

Your right the main focus that year was Corkscrew, and it should have been, but that was not the only part of the celebration of America. Cedar Point, like most of the country that year, painted everything red, white and blue! The bicentennial logo was planted in flowers in the circular flower bed, and the space spiral cabin was painted in those colors also.

I remember seeing women stand under the corkscrew and screaming their heads off just watching! It was something new, an upside down coaster! Wow, look how far we have come!

Use American Colors....Red White and Blue. To honor the United States.

The railings on the loading ramps to SS were colored red, white, and blue at one time. Then they painted them a nasty brown and orange, with a tad of red, which got even more ugly as the rust started. Finally the park painted the railings to the colors you see today:

I think that SS would look good with a white tower and blue cabin with A/C of course.

Yet another thread fallen victim to the ID color scheme.

The ID scheme is a decent colour theme, but not for ID. Because...

a) it doesn't fit the 'foresty' terrain route.

Foresty terrain? What foresty terrain would that be? ;)

Like the others have said, it's the same colors... it could be wear and tear from weather. It's been mighty windy around here lately. I worked literally next door to the spiral and it does need a new color scheme. However, in my eyes, the most important thing that needs improved is the ventilation. You can't ride it if the cabin goes above a certain temperature.

Thanks.

I love the space spiral. But the ride needs upgrading, and a new scheme.

Painting the Tower Light Gray, The Cabin Light Blue, And the Top Rainbow would be Awsome... Okay, Nevermind the Rainbow.... Paint it Dark Grey.

Keep the old paint scheme (come on, it's not that bad) and give it a new, updated lighting package so that it fits in with the updated games midway in that area and MaxAir. Also A/C wouldn't be a bad investment for the cabin...though either money or some structural component has prevented it from happening so far...

I don't see that as an improvement. the reason the park is painting so many rides (ie: WildCat, Iron Dragon etc..) is to help give the park an updated feel, and help bring CP up to date with other parks. Ironically, the bright colors they choose are suppose to make you want to spend more money... ;)

Like the idea that the colors red and yellow make you hungry(ier), or subliminal messages lead to communism;).

Instead of focusing on the Exterior....Maybe they should redo the seats and get rid of the rips on the bench. My Wife also thinks they could clean the windows...But all in all its a good relaxing ride.

^^Based on the fact that when Cedar Point usually does improvement such as this, it tends to do more than just the basics, I'm hoping that perhaps we might see something happen regarding the cabin itself...

If their not going to get the A/C it needs, I say knock out some of the windows and make it open-air. Get a good breeze in there. But then that might have some type of conflict on the movement of the cabin if it gets to windy.
