Your right the main focus that year was Corkscrew, and it should have been, but that was not the only part of the celebration of America. Cedar Point, like most of the country that year, painted everything red, white and blue! The bicentennial logo was planted in flowers in the circular flower bed, and the space spiral cabin was painted in those colors also.
I remember seeing women stand under the corkscrew and screaming their heads off just watching! It was something new, an upside down coaster! Wow, look how far we have come!

Use American Colors....Red White and Blue. To honor the United States.
The railings on the loading ramps to SS were colored red, white, and blue at one time. Then they painted them a nasty brown and orange, with a tad of red, which got even more ugly as the rust started. Finally the park painted the railings to the colors you see today:

I think that SS would look good with a white tower and blue cabin with A/C of course.

Imagine your favorite tv show. You've been through it all. The ups, the downs, the crazy coincidences and then bang! They tell you what it's all about. Would you be happy? Does it make sense? How come it all ended in a church? - Joker

The ID scheme is a decent colour theme, but not for ID. Because...a) it doesn't fit the 'foresty' terrain route.
Foresty terrain? What foresty terrain would that be? ;)

Like the others have said, it's the same colors... it could be wear and tear from weather. It's been mighty windy around here lately. I worked literally next door to the spiral and it does need a new color scheme. However, in my eyes, the most important thing that needs improved is the ventilation. You can't ride it if the cabin goes above a certain temperature.
Thanks.
Painting the Tower Light Gray, The Cabin Light Blue, And the Top Rainbow would be Awsome... Okay, Nevermind the Rainbow.... Paint it Dark Grey.

Keep the old paint scheme (come on, it's not that bad) and give it a new, updated lighting package so that it fits in with the updated games midway in that area and MaxAir. Also A/C wouldn't be a bad investment for the cabin...though either money or some structural component has prevented it from happening so far...

I don't see that as an improvement. the reason the park is painting so many rides (ie: WildCat, Iron Dragon etc..) is to help give the park an updated feel, and help bring CP up to date with other parks. Ironically, the bright colors they choose are suppose to make you want to spend more money... ;)

^^Based on the fact that when Cedar Point usually does improvement such as this, it tends to do more than just the basics, I'm hoping that perhaps we might see something happen regarding the cabin itself...
