So what colors would you guys repaint Space Spiral to make it fit in better with that area of the park?
I would leave the tower white, but I would repaint the space spiral to match MaxAir,
In fact, I would also repaint WT to blend in better with MaxAir. They have the new lighting package, MaXair, (even Carnevil during Halloweekends) all giving it a carnival type feel.
IMO.
:)
You mean like they did with Dragon so it blends in with Dragster? I would rather rides have their own independent paint schemes so they stand out from one another, not blend in.

Id make the cabin Cedar Point Blue (dark navy blue) and the tower would be a mix of white and Cedar Point green. I would like to see a cool lighting package be installed. Maybe some chasing strobes like on LuXor in Las Vegas. Or the LCD’s like I mentioned above. Strobes on the cabin might look cool too

Not exactly. I guess its just a matter of taste; I would have names the ride something that has to do with water, seeing as how its on the coast, and by the marina, like "water spout", or "thypoon", etc.
Green and yellow just wouldnt be my first choice, thats all. I think Iron Dragon got ugly. I personally like the original colors better, but what are you going to do.
When Im on WT Im having too much fin to care what color it is.
I think what happened is that ID was in need of a paint job and they had some left over from Dragster. It was a big mistake by the park (bigger even the DT in my opinion) and hopefully ID will be returned to the right colors at some point.
As for WT, I really like the color scheme, they got out of the primary color spectrum with the supports and I think it works really well.

I agree on both accounts, John. Although I'd rather they not return ID to its original colors, which were a tad too bland, IMO. Maybe the supports could be dark green instead of "depressing gray"?
Brandon
Ok, I could go for Forest Green supports and red track. You know, I wonder if CP had McD's sponsorship lined up for ID and went ahead with the painting and it fell through at the last second?

Dragster was painted before it even arrived at Cedar Point. So I highly doubt they had left over paint. And even if they did, someone made a huge oversight with the amount Dragster would of needed.
Agreed howver.. that is one ugly color on Iron Dragon. It looked a lot better when it was by itself.. back in the day..
Here is my idea on the color scheme. Use American Colors....Red White and Blue. To honor the United States.
Cedar Point 4-ever
^Like the one at Knott's?

Coastern3rd,
They always "touch-up" before opening. Just to clean up any marks that may have been caused by the construction process.
I was of course being facetious about them having left over paint with which to paint ID, but it does make for an interesting explanation.
Goodbye MrScott
John
Right on, it was not really emphasized that you were being facetious.
If anything.. the station needs to be repainted. It looks crazy out of place now.
As for Space Spiral... everything needs to be done to that "ride" to give it anything other than a failing grade. I cannot remeber the last time I went and had seen both decks opened.
The Space Spiral would look good with colors like Drop Zone at King's Island.

The ID scheme is a decent colour theme, but not for ID. Because...
a) it doesn't fit the 'foresty' terrain route.
b) and is too close in colour to its neighbour.
I think it's good that SS is being painted, but contrary to popular demand/belief, I think it should remain the same colour. The white tower is standard and fits well. The cabin could use a more bright colour, but not to match any ride(s) around it.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
