Fear the Mullet!

It what could only be called no surprise, I am going to have to go along with Jeff and Mr. Spartan on this one. They have, in my opinion, a pretty good track record when it comes to Cedar Point :)

Well then if you think you are so sure then you'd better make that check out to park op ride managers who said that Mantis would not be painted!

Which part of "It's not upto Park Operations to paint the rides" was unclear again?

The only thing worse than a guest know-it-all is an employee know-it-all who actually doesn't know anything.

I'll have to go along with Jeff on this one. It is true that it's not up to Park Ops, it's up to Monty, and if he says they are painting it then they are painting it. And if they don't paint it, then "coastermaina" can laugh in our faces. Ha.

Lol Jeff, it's not like Monty would be able to tell that Mantis had been re-painted anyway. ;)

Jeff, I am not trying to sound like a know it all employee, just stating what I heard from Mgmt in Park Op. last week. I know its not their decision to paint the rides, but they do know a little about what is going on in the park! To be honest with you, I hope that I am wrong cause got knows that Mantis looks like crap...........Magnum too, and I would love nothing more then to see Mantis get painted. Just staing a fact that I heard last week. Also Jeff its not like you have ever been wrong about anything......all I have to say is......."Boardwalk Project!"

To hopefully put a final end on the whole painting deal, listen up: I am the owner of "the company" who has got the bid to paint Mantis. I would hope that the park would let us know before anyone else. So there you have it, end of story.

I believe you guy....Now how about that color scheme; Fire engine red, high visibility yellow and night blue... Close??

I was super before Superstew was cool!

They'll probably paint it rust colored so nobody will notice when it starts to look like crap again.

Why do some B&M tracks look so bad so fast? Raptor I can understand with all the seagull poop, but Mantis rarely has those "deposits" made that Raptor does.

Maybe it's the fact that the paint wasn't very good to start with? Anyways, I would love to see the Mantis painted.

I would have to agree with Jeff on this topic. Park Ops OPERATES they don't necessarily maintain. I also think the Anonymous person, has provided very strong credentials also...

What about the topic to this forum. Was there a rumor that mantis was getting a second station? Just wondering
The Boardwalk project wasn't necessarily an actual boardwalk, but shoreline development...what would you call WT?

I call it put in a bad location!
I also think WT is in a bad location. Nothing better than a nice cool ride on Wicked Twister with sand being blown straight into your eyes. I had an unfortunate incident like this on GW last year during a wind storm. MAN THAT HURT. I'd hate to get sand in my eyes while traveling 72 MPH.

I never really thought about WT being put anywhere else in the park, since I think it LOOKS good on the beach... but now that I think a little more about it, WT would be a might cool ride if it was partially over the lagoons behind the Iron Dragon hills and into the Troika/Chaos area. Spinning up from pretty much the middle of the park above the treeline there would have made for some incredible visuals during the ride. This really should be moved to an independent topic though, since we're straying BIG TIME from the topic at hand.
I feel they took away from the beach.....GW...and that nice resting area was very peacful............now the good view is blocked and it will be very noisy

Not me..I think it adds a boardwalk feel to hr beach with flare and a awesome view of the water on one side and a Great ride on the other..

Two words for you: safety glasses.

Personally, I think some form of eye protection is a Good Idea™ on any high-speed coaster. Nothing fancy...a pair of sunglasses, prescription lenses, sport goggles, whatever. We're not talking about an industrial situation where you have to worry about chemicals or chunks of debris, so OSHA-approved stuff is probably overkill. But something between your eyeball and that sand/wind/bug/raindrop/lost_lunch/etc flying toward you at high speed could save you from injury.
