So Clean!

Yes so just the can with bags put in. Thats why the ones at KI smell, ours have linners in them and so they trap food that gets stuck on the side.

Don't worry, it won't be long before you get the trademark Cedar Fair garbage cans... :)

Kings Island always do smell! It's...repulsive when I throw things away. I can't imagine having to work putting those away...watch now, when I'm 16 and I go to work there I'll end up collecting trash :P

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

Oh I hope we get some CF style can's, the ones we got already are ok but there not in big numbers like CP. Those brown pans that CP has are the ones CF is getting KI, I like'em theres a lid on them, but the kind'a heavy. My manager thinks CF is going to have us use those huge cartens to try them out. Hay CP Tay a prewelcome to the team, PM me if you have questions about KI eco. :) *** Edited 7/18/2006 2:36:58 AM UTC by Daniel Smith***

For ours we keep two bags in during the day, for close a third bag is added. So after the nightly fireworks, its like you said grab and go. ;)

I have a question... I have never been to Cedar Point on Halloweekends, so I don;t know the answer to this, but does the park get really dirty by October or is it still really clean?

don't**

The park is just as clean, if not cleaner due to everyone out sprucing the place up for Halloween, as it is during the normal season.

Thrills Around the Corner!

Ok that's sweet!

Ok that's sweet!

How many runs or sections was KI divided up into? For CP, there's ten runs, with some pepple having to take double tuns depend on the area. We alsoi might have one or two people just dealing with the food patios, if we had the staff.

Glad to info you, at KI the park is divided up into sections. By just looking at the map, Internation Street, Old Coney, and Boomerang Bay are the largest areas, so are Nick Univers and RiverTown(both grounped together. Action Zone and OcterberFest are grouped, from the fact that theres small areas. The big areas when fully staffed have one sometimes two for opening, for close they have two, I can tell you that the waterpark is a b***H closing by yourself. Pan/Broomers, Restroomers have close section to us. We really earn our pay of 9.15 when theres 40,000+ in the park. ;) They tryed to change it so we did food patios, but our new VP of opertiones is putting a stop to that. But I will help out is theres a full can on a patio.

Is 9.15 standard pay at KI or is that just for the position you're in?

Haha - if that WAS standard pay, it won't be for long. ;)

My thought exactly... I've looked at their site before and could never find it.

DBCP for my position, we(Ecology) gets paid more over every other department.

Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"

That's INSANE I only got 6.50! We earned our pay AND more. Especally thwe one day we were half staffed and only had 6 full cans called in all day. EVERYbody had a double run!

First off, the mentality of the average KI employee is piss poor. Not to say that of anyone in particular but I used to wait tables at the Perkins by KI and I got to know a bunch of their employees who weren't really happy with their jobs the way CP employees are, that may be the reason for higher pay, to keep people doing the job.

Secondly, I've got much love for the garbage collectors of the world. I also worked in a big park where different companies would rent out areas of the park and have their company picnics, and let me tell anyone that doesn't know... You mix beer with assorted foodstuffs, like hot dogs, coleslaw, baked beans, and more beer, and it gets disgusting very quickly. I'm convinced something in that combo also deteriorates garbage bags, as about 40% of the one's I'd collect would break open and spill out in my golf cart... Really, really gross. Part of that no fun job was cleanng bathrooms too, again, boo!

Thanks to all the folks that are willing to do it!

Love it or Lump it.

While we usually find Cedar Point very clean, I was surprised at the condition of the mens room near the Red Garter last Thursday a little after 9 AM. All the stalls where a mess. The rest of the place was bad too. Also while waiting outside the Happt Friar an hour later, my wife pointed out how much "goo" and bird doo was all over the ground there and near the Coaster Cooler stand first thing in the morning.
