Yes. Over the radio it's a "Code 77." It usualy happens in food patios like Happy Frier and Burger Patio. It is also common on ride platforms. Those cans are not fun to deal with, especially Gemini, but Raptor's worse!
77 is also code for a full dumpster somwhere in the park. every food service area has a dumpster behind it. If you watch carefully on the perminter road, you can see pickup trucks pulling two or three of them to the compactors. One is at P&D, the other is behind Blue Streak.

Actually, last year, we were only ranked #3 for Cleanest Park in the Golden Tickets, and they only list the top three. Needless to say, when that news came out, the Group U guys had a blast a Louie's that night. It was an internatioal effore because about 1/3 of the guys on our crew were from Hungary. We also had a guy from Turkey and a guy from Ecuodor.

I applawed everyone who takes great part in keeping Cedar Point clean and neat, after all its the best park in the world.
Damn! CP outranked MK AND Disneyland????? That's a shocker even to me.
It ain't just the garbo guys either. There's the army of sweeps (thouse walking around with a dustpan and broom picking up cigarette butts), and the guys and gals who clean the bathrooms.
The sweeps will keep an eye out of cans that might be getting full and let us know about it. Then again, we know the high traffic trouble spots, like the food patioes and the ride platforms.

Yeah, we had some good teamwork and communication between our area’s GU and my sweep zone. We didn’t call each others 77’s and 19’s in we’d just find each other and give the heads up. This was even when we were in “battle Saturdays” where all the ES crews compete and the one with the last call in wins. There was one instance where our zone and area 1 GU went into double overtime (Monday ;)) without a call in! We eventually had the most wins and got a pizza party, but I think group utility did a more impressive job since it’s much harder to keep the cans empty.
As for cobwebs that is generally done each morning but only 1 or 2 people are sent out with a half hour or so to do it. The spiders usually make more than we could handle, so during the day if we walked by a fence we’d try and knock them down. Anything in the queues though was the ride crew’s responsibility.
We also did clean can lids usally once a week, and aslo when there was enough staffing to send an extra person out since the first priority was trash on the midway. Rain actually was the best way to clean them so all of them would get a rinse every so often.

I myself have been to CP in July, when the park would be packed and hardly see anything trash on the ground. Its funny seeing the garbage crew pulling those huge cartens, it almost looks like a dump truck. The bathrooms that I've been in were always clean and sparkaling ;). There are alot of cobweds in the park. Is that true, theres 2100 cans in the park? I've seen 2120;).
I work at Kings Island down south from Cedar Point, Im in a department called Ecology, which is Pan/Broom,Truck(garbage duty) and Restrooms. I am in Truck now, sence Cedar Fair bought Kings Island, they have made some big changes in which the department works. All for the good!! :) *** Edited 7/17/2006 3:24:48 AM UTC by Daniel Smith***

I like that Hopman, very creative. I wish CF next year would give each department different styles of shirts, instide of everyone looking the same. On your trash can's, is there a linner or do you put the bag stright on to the can?
Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"
I mean is there a linner that fits into the can, to put the bag in it. Or is it just the can, and the bag gets put over the edges it the can?
Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"
You're wondering if there's a can inside, and what we see is just a shell?
I believe, wysiwyg. There is no inside can that actually collects the garbage.
Goodbye MrScott
John
What you see is what there is... a can with a bag (over the edges of the can).
