Walking in a whiteout can be a really cool experience. Driving in one, however, is a different story.
Does anyone know what wind speeds prompt CP to close TTD? We really want to get a TTD fix this weekend, but wondered if she'd even be running this Friday or Saturday. NWS forecast predicts 17-25 mph wind Friday, between 13 and 18 for Saturday and no mention of wind for Sunday (we can't go Sunday though). Thanks!
I think the cold is more to be concerned about than the Winds. What a crummy day today has been weather wise!

Living here in Windsor we get Detroit news and radio
Vince do you get 89X 88.7 radio as well? I'm just wondering?

89X is a Windsor-Detroit station. There is a studio downtown. I'm not exactly sure what is done in which city, but I know it's "Windsor-Detroit's only new rock alternative."
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
CP-DAD, TTD will close when sustained winds reach 35mph, so as far as wind, I think TTD will be fine. as Ben mentioned it might be the cold temps that might be more of a problem.
And although it might not feel windy down at the ground level, the winds at 420ft can be much higher.
So here's hoping for a rollback (or two) this weekend! :)
If you're there Friday night, feel free to say hi. I'll be there.
Ben/Mark,
Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated! :) This weather is crummy alright. On a positive note the park probably won't be too crowded tonight and not only may I have a record breaking TTD riding day (for me that is), we may get a roll back too! :) At least CP isn't down wind of the Lake today, I heard they closed I-90 and the Buffalo area got 22+ inches of snow, yuk! Now if it remained cold enough and the wind were to change and come out of the NE, CP would end up like that park in Japan referred to earlier. :) My older son and I will be there tonight dressed in layers and ready to ride.

Walt you are right, it was not that bad. The snow flakes were big and there were lots of them, but I could see the gound ahead of me. That second one would be scary!
Same here. Thanks for clarification, Walt.
Yes, we do indeed get 89X. It broadcasts in downtown Windsor from the same place as our local news radio, AM800. Personally, I don't listen to radio music often; however, I know that most of my friends love 89X. :)
What does r0x0rz mean anyway? Is that some kind of code? Somebahdy enlighten me!

Looks like somebody fell off a cliff. You okay, thepoint4life23?
Why say r0x0rz for rocks? It seems like so much more work. Why not rocks? I swear, the generation these days... Why, in my time, we had to text-message with a Smith-Corona. With no correction ribbon!

Do rides still run in snow? How much snow does it take to close one? J/W
I'm assuming they wouldn't run the bigger rides if it's snowing, same as for rain. Wouldn't know about the others, though I'd imagine this hasn't been a real problem for Halloweekends in recent years...
I will be there the 20th, 21st, and 22nd with my bags packed with everything from shorts and tee shirts, to pants and hoodies, to my snowboard gear... and I'll also have my snowboard goggles for the crazy cold and windy rides, and I will be enjoying every second of whatever weather there is!
It's unfortunately going to be my last trip of the season, as the weekend before Halloween is a huge weekend for my store and I couldn't get that weekend off! :(
Hope to see everyone there!
