^^Neither was I. Can anyone confirm that there are brakes on the drop?
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I can confirm that magnetic brakes were added to the drop for the 2007 season. It was in the ride's operating manual

Yeah I love Snake River Falls a lot too. It's kind of neat how your going up the hill and then you go around that curve for like 2 minutes and then you just drop. The only other one that I like is Congo Falls at Kings Island. It might be called something else now, but that one is just as good.
Never been on SRF.. but I do go on Adventure Falls at Michigan's Adventure. I refuse to ride Snake River Falls or Thunder Canyon after a bad experience a few years ago.. where Thunder Canyon was my first ride of the day. Yeah definitely not a good idea.. but this was when I didn't know much about the park!

Big fan of SRF, although riding it this year it seemed like the line just crawled. At least one row was never filled. After loading and locking the bar we sat there for about 45 seconds before being released, too. Typicial knee-jerk liability manager reaction to one idiot on a similar ride at another park who manages to injure themself, resulting in everyone else getting hosed.
I try out other park's water rides - there are some very good features on some of them.
CP's old Shoot The Rapids had a neat little hill at the bottom of the big drop that gave a tiny amount of air time. That was a trade off for not making too big of a splash but made the ride fun. They could use a tame water ride like that.
Just say no to trims
Snake is set up a lot like a coaster, and as such has certain intervals it has to maintain in order to accomodate its blocking and avoid setting up. I know when I worked there 2 years ago, we almost always were ready to dispatch before the minimum interval had passed.
The empty-row thing, though...not sure about that...

I love SRF on a hot day.
I remember one time it was like an 80 degree day out and there was a little breeze and it was a walk on for like a good couple hours. So I went on it like 10 times just for the heck of it. Along with Thunder Canyon and my dad and I went on White Water Landings that day too a couple times. :)
Anyone else miss WWL?
So stoked for 2010 :]
