Should they have Fastlane for GateKeeper?

Because this ride is right at the front of the park. If you aren't paying attention you can miss a Millennium Force, you could miss a Maverick, you could miss a Top Thrill Dragster.

GateKeeper will also have a higher capacity than all three. So I really can't see these "record breaking lines" happening, even though it is in front of the park.

Several Points :

1. Fast Lane Cut : Maybe when you ride GateKeeper with FL, they might mark your wristband. You can only use it once on GK for the day. Maybe?

2. On-Ride Photo : Maybe a camera while you are upsidedown on the top of the lift hill. I would buy that!

3. Early Entry : On opening day 2013, do you thing that GK (assuming that it has passed all saftey tests) will be open for early entry? That would be amazing!

1. That's alot of sharpie ink :)

2. Not at the top of the hill, too hard to maintain the camera. They would probably place it near the ground mounted for easy maintenance access.

3. Let's all hope it's ready in general by opening day alone :)

I can't remember the last coaster that opened without being featured as an ERT ride. I would assume TTD, but that wasn't open for most of the regular hours either. :)

It is B&M this time. Unless we have a terrible winter, I expect it to open on time.

Do we even know if it will be open for early Entry. TTD is not open early, if it is will they leave off a other ride for early entry

Should they have Fastlane for Gatekeeper? No. Let em all wait for hours the first year like the rest of us. After the first year, OK. My two cents.

Yes, Gatekeeper will be an early entry attraction. It's posted on the Platinum Pass page.

It depends on the day. Good weather causes it to open early. The staff for TTD has to be there super early to do extra trouble the ride gives.

TTD is always the "problem child" at the daycare.....

CP has a lot of repeat customers that generally are going to want to ride the new one because they've never rode it. When the bulls run in the morning they are going to flock to it. Best example is Raptor. The line for Raptor is always longer in the morning because it is right at the entrance. As the day goes on the line gets shorter and shorter till its almost a walk on. The crowds generally move towards the back of the park as the day goes on. Maverick will be a walk on in the morning now and Millenium will also be shorter as people will want to experience GateKeeper for the 1st time. After experiencing the ride it will depend on where it fits into their lineup of coasters. Hope it's a people eater and disperses the crowds from other lines. CP should have another banner year next year.

Fast Pass would have to include GateKeeper. The cost of the pass is more than 2 day admission. I think it's a waste of money. But our visit 2 weekends ago we walked by Millenium at 9pm. The Fast Pass line was advertised at 45 minutes. there cannot be a limit to how many they sell if it was that packed just on one ride. I think thats great they are still keeping everyone else happy by feathering these people in.

If the Fast Pass generates more money for the parks CF owns I am all for it. But I wouldn't pay for it when I can visit all year long for the same price.

I don't agree. As you noted, crowds are not uniformly dispersed throughout the park. It's inevitable that at various times during the day, there will be swells and lulls for any given ride's wait time, both in the standard and FL queue.

I agree with Redsfan. 45 minutes for Fast Lane? Crazy. I don't even want to imagine the regular line...

So, we're going to use one data point (and ignore the other 19 data points) to determine that they have no limit on the number of passes they sell?

Yeah, that makes sense.

Goodbye MrScott

John

Will there be a more direct path from the front gate to Gatekeeper, compared to how you had to get to DT? If not, Raptor will still be the first coaster you hit when entering from the front gate. I don't think its location will make the line any longer, compared to say when Maverick first opened.

I would say you are still gonna have to walk up towards Raptor and then down the MaxAir midway....unless you enter the park from the Beach Gate.....

The signs for Fastlane always read longer than they actually are. Last time I had Fastlane Millennium said 30 minutes but it was actually more like 5-10. Only ride that took more than 15 or so minutes in Fastlane all day was Maverick.

There actually is a limit, I walked in the park on one of the crowded Saturdays recently and the ticket booth at the marina gate had a sign saying that Fastlane is sold out.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
