What is it cheating? ..... it as a credit? from what I can tell most people won't care if you call it a coaster or not. It's up to you. I'm not going to count it but it won't bother me if someone else does. Matter of fact I don't know why it bothers anyone really. A ride is a ride and it's there to simply thrill people.

"Cheating" for lack of a better term about it. It would make my eyes roll if there was a bragging promo about the number of coasters including this with it. To clarify further, I don't know where THEY stand on *wanting* to hold the record again because they sure used to advertise it when they did or how far behind they are to begin with if they wanted to compete again in that manner. *I* don't care where they are on their count.

The manufacturer's web site has the ride in the coaster section and calls it a Disk'O Coaster, so it must be a coaster. Though the CP version doesn't have a disk, so it must be a Non-Disk'O Coaster that is a coaster even though it is "non". :)
Not that it matters, all that is important is if it is a fun ride.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Cheating on their coaster count if they think this helps up their status. I really don't know where they stand on it now and how far behind they are on "roller coaster capital of the world" but I say it's a big stretch on this ride.
The current park claiming the roller coaster title Magic Mountain pads their coaster stats with 1 family and 4 kid coasters. This is nothing new I don't care what the hell they consider pipe scream.
Well according to this (towards the end) it will count towards the coaster count.
