Seasons Pass 2008

Just talked to Dorney Park, and NO they will not process my season Pass for Cedar Point. To quote the lady from Dorney "it was a mistake on Cedar Point's website." I directed that it still says that and asked her "don't they dictate policy, since they are the corporate headquarters". I was also informed that there is NO DIFFERENCE betweeen Platinium Passes, so a Platinium Pass from any park will recieve POINT PERKS at CP. I really thought they had this sorted out since I called in OCT to make sure. So now I am trying to make sure I get my jackets. Since I have to return my CP passes and purchaes new passes.

So long as that means I get to use those Gold Pass lanes at KI (and the early entry to the waterpark) Im A-OK with this.

I don't get it. I talked to Kings Dominion, Kings Island
and Carowinds; they all said that they cannot process the
pass (taking your picture or whatever, etc...), however
they will let you in the park if you show them your
voucher that you received when you bought your pass.
A lot of miscommunication between all the parks and CP.

According to the CP website,

Platinum Passes also include FREE PARKING at ALL Cedar Fair amusementparks and membership in Point Perks (formerly Joe Cool Club).

The question now is whether this message is talking to those who bought the Plat Pass at Cedar Point or all Plat Pass holders from all CF parks. I'm kind of hoping for the latter since I would like to get my Plat Pass validated at MI Adventure (my home park) and still have the Point Perks benefits for my 2-3 weekend visits to CP per year.

^arw no matter where you buy your PP you get free parking everywhere. That is pretty much confirmed.

Whats not confirmed yet (way too much information on either side) is that most parks give perks to PP members, at CP its called Point Perks (fka Joe Cool) and at Paramount parks its called Gold/Platinum Perks. We will all find out when the season starts whether or not this is true (or when someone actually gets a Platinum pass and sees that it has a generic CF look to it with no identifying mark as to what park it was issued from.)

To clarify (and you'll love this), no matter what park you go to, if you have a Platinum Pass, you will receive that park's Platinum Pass benefits. We are currently working on a Platinum Pass Benefits Guide that you can download from our site that details exactly what you get at all parks.

Remember, the benefits are good for Platinum Passholders only. I don't have a time frame for when that will be available, but it should be sometime soon.

Cool. That'll definitely help.

Now the real doozy of a question.

I bought my PP Voucher at Cedar Point last fall after being told that I would be able to redeem it at Michigan's Adventure (and I know others did the same with the expectation to redeem at their home park). Now, while I've contacted Michigan's Adventure and been assured they will be able to process my voucher, what about others who have done the same? Will it be possible to process a voucher purchased at Cedar Point last fall at any of the other Cedar Fair parks? (and here's the kicker) Has anyone bothered to tell the other parks?

Who is bringing the grease???

I don't know about anybody else, But I will have my pass in my hands on the 28 of this month. My family is going to KD for the weekend. I will be able to tell you how generic the passes look then.

I have a question about season passes. Is there normally another price hike before the season starts or is the price on the website now the price thru the start of the season?

I am throughly confused now. Cedar Point has updated their website regarding Platinium Pass processing, Now they list the days that the CP season pass office is open so you can get your pass before the season. BUT!!! it still states that you can get your Platinium Pass processed at ANY PARK!! Even though if you call they will tell you that you can not, and NO other park in the chain knows anything about this!!

Sweeet, glad to see CF decided to go that route. Especially since most CF SP in recent years got to use the Joe Cool ERT. Thanks for the info Tony!

This is what I received back from Michigan's Adventure yesterday:

John,
We encourage guests to redeem their vouchers at the place of purchase. However, we are very willing to assist you with redeeming your vouchers here. It is not a problem! If that is a better option for you, please feel free to use it.

Thank you for your purchase and we look forward to assisting you. Our offices are now open Mon-Fri 9:00am-5:00pm.
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I recieved phone calls from King's Dominion and Dorney Park yesterday and then this morning. Cedar Point, as per Mike Nelson, sent all parks a memo that said they HAD to redeem the Platinium vouchers from any park. Although Dorney this morning told me that my pass will have the "unique markings of Dorney" even though it was purchased at Cedar Point. But I was told that All Platinium Passes are extended the exclusive "perks" at each park.

After posing the initial question on Feb 4, we have returned from SoCal & KBF. Our 2008 CP Platinum pass vouchers acquired last year at halloweekends was honoured at KBF without any questions. The only hold up was about 5 minutes as the parking lot attendant inquired to his supervisors as to how to document the "free" parking on his record sheet.

KBF is a great park. It was physics day when we were there, kids were well behaved, had lots of measurements and things to document with respect to rides, etc. Kids liked the Jaguar ride (a tame version of CCMR in my opinion)

We went to Disneyland the next day, great fun too. Later in the week we went to Universal, did all the LA stuff, went to San Diego and did all the San Diego stuff.

CP should consider a Downtown Disney or City Walk type attraction. Obviously it is successfull in LA & Fla.

Just got back from Carowinds and going to Kings Dominion today. We just showed our vouchers at Carowinds and got it free and received free parking.

Thanks for the youtube video of the 08 winter soar. I missed it this year. How was it?
