That's correct CW, only Cedar Point Platinum Passes will be eligible for Point Perks. To add, your CP Platinum Pass will not get you any other park's perks either.
As Jugga said though, you can still process your Platinum Pass at any park you just won't get their perks.

Ride on, MrScott!
If you read the T nT blog, there is NO SUCH THING as a Cedar Point Platium Pass. It is a "CEDAR FAIR" Platium Pass, so my guess is there are no difference in Platium Passess from different parks. Just an observation in the wording. I just checked Dorney and King's Island. both refer to their own park passes then the Platium Pass is called a "CEDAR FAIR" pass.
I think there's still some confusion that needs to be cleared up on the whole Platinum Pass and Point Perks. Since the website states that I can process my Platinum Pass at any CF park, how will CP know that I purchased mine at CP and allow me to enjoy Point Perks if I have it processed at a different park?
Although it's not clear on the website, I was under the impression (based on information from various employees), that the Platinum Pass would get whatever "perks" were available at any given CF park. But as we've already heard, some parks aren't processing Platinum Passes that weren't purchased at their park, so only time will tell how the how Platinum Pass program will work at each park.
Last year, sister park passes were allowed to participate in Joe Cool perks (at least early entry and special ride nights), so why would the Platinum Passes this year be any different?
I just recieved an email from Bobbie Jo Dukes, from King's Dominion which she stated "Thank you for your recent email. I apologize but the season pass must be processed at the park at which it was purchased (along with picking up the Cedar Free Jacket). However, if you wish to visit a park that has opened BEFORE the park opens where you purchased your pass, you can still visit the other park with your Temporary Pass (before it is processed). If you have any other questions, please call 804.876.5561 or visit our website for the most up-to-date information on the park. Thank you!"So either us fans are the only ones who got the memo on the processing or Cedar Fair has not told all the parks the new policy. I don't know about anybody else here, but I normally DO NOT get my pass form Cedar Point. Dorney is only 1 hour from my house, so I usually get it there. But with the promise of Point Perks and that nay park could processes the passes I bought a Platium Pass from CP. They say I can use my "temporary Pass" to gain entry to other parks? Well I will have gone to Dorney about 5 or 6 times and King's Dominion 6 times before I even head out to Ohio. I don't think a piece of paper is going to hold up to well. Has any body heard from any other parks yet. I have a call into Cedar Point, they are at lunch.
My guess is that they had full intention of allowing you to process your pass anywhere, but things simply aren't going to come together in time. Better luck next year? It's not like it's a huge deal. You can still visit the parks you want to even without it processed.

I got a response from Michigan's Adventure that said they would process my Cedar Point voucher but it may take a few minutes while they call Cedar Point to confirm its validity.
Goodbye MrScott
John
I spoke to Dorney Park today, they are on line but have not heard of the processing of any Platinium Pass. I directed them to Cedar Points website, they read it then told me they were going to call Cedar Point and find out the procedure and get back to me. My question is if this is "Paramount Technology" shouldn't the Paramount PArks e.g. Kong's Dominion already be able to do it? I sent an email back to KD with the CedarPoint links and am waiting an answer.
I purchased mine online in December and I'm redeeming it and stuff in April :) I'm pretty dang excited to get it. Yes, I'm a first time holder. :)
So stoked for 2010 :]

To avoid some confusion, acrossthelake. Do you have a 2007 Maxx Pass? Are you going to Knott's before March 31st? Remember your season pass expires on 03/31/08. So having your 08 pass might not be needed after all.
I know the first time I went to Knott's, they had not started putting that expiration date on passes. But I took my voucher with me showing I purchased a season pass for that year and they honored it with no hassle. The other times I went , I used the previous years pass and had no problems.

You would think that to be the case, but in January of 07 I was denied entry to Knott's when I had an 06 pass that expired on 3/31/07. Their claim was that it applies only to the issuing park, not to the other parks in the chain. Of course, their admissions supervisor also didn't understand that Cedar Point is a seasonal park that is closed during the winter....
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
I just ordered the Cedar Fair Platinum Pass. I have a few questions though.
1. If you have your eticket with you the first time you go to the point, will it cover parking? or will you be reimbursed when you process your pass?
2. I have an intristing little problem. My first time out to the Point this year, I will be staying at lighthouse point. Is there any way to get to the season pass center without going though the park from lighthouse.
I live in what I like to call the Cedar Fair triangle. 4 hrs to CP 3.5 to Dorny, and only 4 to Canada's Wonderland. Thats why I went with the platinum pass.

As regards item#2, there is a shuttle service from Lighthouse Point to
to the main gate where the season's pass center is located.
Once you have your pass, you can enter through the front of
the park or take the shuttle back again.
Just one more quick question. What time does the season pass office open?

Pre-Season varies, but Cedar Point's Season Pass Center is open during park hours once the park opens for the season.

So, would it be open to process my pass so I can use it to get in for Point Perks the first time I go?

Ralph - sorry to hear they denied you admission. It's such a shame that Cedar Fair can't get its act together in that aspect. That's the reason they have the expiration date of Mar 31st since Knott's is the only park in chain that is open in winter. Sounds to me that the supervisor was a complete idiot!
My fiance and her daughter have Maxx Passes from Worlds of Fun. There is no expiration date on them. As we left the park, I asked someone in guest relations about it and showed her my CP pass with the date on it. She wasn't sure but said they should all be the same. So I wrote Knott's and they replied saying they would honor those passes if they went before March 31st 2008.
Since I am new to the hole season pass thing, could someone explain to me what they are like in appearance? I have never had a season pass before.

Well they are changing designs this year, so we don't exactly know but they should be the size and feel of a credit card and will no longer have your picture on it.

It will cover parking, they will scan the barcode on the paper at the toll booths, hand you your eticket back and then let you through
