Season preview

Reading the season preview, a couple questions?

A) Are the digital info signs going to be like the ones at Disney or Universal that have ride wait times listed on them, or is it going to contain mostly show or weather info?

B) New ride signs. Are we seeing a return to character signs, or are they just repainted to meet update height requirements or touchups due to aging?

I think thats it, otherwise its a very good review and makes the wait even worse. I want to see all this stuff in action.

And where was Hot Diggity Dawg located at? I'm drawing a blank.

Funny how last year I could have cared less about Kiddie Kingdom - our 5 year old had graduated to bigger and better things. Now this year I get to relive the whole kiddie thing again with our 5 month old. I am glad they tore out the paving and replaced it. I think that will at least make the area a little more pleasant to look at.

Right on the back side of Ice Cream Parlor. Go to the 'Photos' section, under food, to take a look at what Hot Diggity Dawg did look like *** Edited 4/27/2005 4:20:21 PM UTC by xxn1ghtw0lfxx***

Hmmm,

That section(behind ice cream parlor) is already a ghost town since they closed the arcade/ shooting gallery. I wonder if cp has something in store for this area for next season?

I hope that the new signs are the return of the character signs.

ps: I also heard from a little birdie that there may be a new rule taking place this season.....no loose articals on any of the rides in the park except transportation rides like the train, sky ride and space spiral.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

They have plans for that area this season. A wall is going up and it will be used for an employee break area.

They're doing a lot more than I thought. New railroad crossing should be interesting. They were something that needed to be replaced.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think the new safety signs are just going to be kind of the same with updated information. And I have heard the same thing as crazy horse concerning loose articles, so this little tidbit will probably be one of the 25 bullets on each sign. ;)

I'm curious about the electronic signs at the entrances. I'm guessing CP is not going to spend the money to implement the technology for ride wait signs although I really hope that is the case. I'm thinking it will probably tell the time, temp, and maybe advertise for the hotels or something, kind of like the one they have on the back of the ticket gate up front now. We'll see I guess.

My guess is the new electronic signs will have info about any rides that are closed and the park hours for that day. Just a higher tech replacement for those signs they set out that no one seems to see anyway.

Where/What is the Season preview?

The ride sign update is related to the new "no loose article" rule mentioned previously.

The new electronic entrance signs will sit on top of the information displays (as seen on the left here). It'll basically be information pertaining to the day (fireworks, ride closings, park closing at 8, etc.) Those signs may or may not be in place by opening day.

Unless they do them this week because over the weekend they were not there.

I read somewhere that Magnum painting won't get finished this offseason and they will finish the rest next offseason. Is this true?

Actualy the ride signs are just big decals that are replaced every year.

Believe me I know, we had to peel them off to put the new one on. That was a time consuming job.

Any idea how much is painted on magnum so far?

Ralph Wiggum's avatar

Mantis wasn't done until June when it got painted (I remember seeing painters on it while waiting for MF ERT during Coaster Mania). I'm sure Magnum will be finished this year, just maybe not before opening day.

I was there over the weekend and Magnum's supports on the transfer were about half done and I really couldnt tell anywhere else because it was raining and it made everything looked painted.

A new break area that is 30ft. away from the Demon Drop break area? Huh? I wonder what will become of the old break area?
