Still, I've never had a bad experience on a PTC :-P
OK, I'll give you that, but I'm thinking there's gotta be some out there that aren't well maintained.
Honestly, they only wooden coasters I've really had any sort of trouble on have been Dinn/Summers, and even they aren't so bad on most days.

I totally agree. Tatsu is the one coaster to come from SFMM that I've actually said "Wow, now that's a coaster!". X kinda got my attention....but not as much as Tatsu.

Yes, I'm sure there are, but you can't blame the coaster itself for that. Just think of what EL Toro at SFGadv will be like in a few years...

You raise a good point, I looked up my most hated woodies, and that name came up more than once. But I still think that PTC can't be beat when it comes to overall wooden coaster quality. :-)
It's always time for a Cedar Point road trip!

When it comes to wooden coasters, the only ones I like are the "old" ones. I think that today, when people build wooden coasters, they try to recreate the rickityness (for lack of a better word) and you end up with headache inducing nightmares like MS and Hercules at Dorney.
I have yet to meet a classic woodie I didn't like. That's why I love to get to little, out of the way parks like Idlewild and Conneaut Lake. That being said, I think there are a lot newer models that offer unparalleled ride experiences. I'm thinking of coasters like Lightning Racer and Silver Comet at MFI, for example. But yes, PTC rules.
As for the whole Intamin/B&M debate, that's like asking which child is your favorite. One may be more creative and artistic, but gets into constant trouble for cutting classes and bad-mouthing teachers. The other one may be a bit boring because he's so predictable, but at least you know you can rely on him to bring home straight B's.
My author website: mgrantroberts.com.
Location is half the battle when it comes to roller coasters. Try finding a review of Magnum that doesn't say anything about Lake Erie. Or find a review of TTD without the mention of the midway right along side of the launch. Or Raptor without the mention of it being at the entrance of CP. Location, location, location.
When Mr. Kinzel was asked about his thought on the removal of WWL last year, he said one thing, "It's a beautiful piece of property."
When you're driving into CP you see many rides from the parking lot because so many of them are hundreds of feet tall. When you're driving into SFMM you see Scream because you literally park right next to it.
I'm not saying anything bad about B&M. I'm sure Scream is a great ride. The best ride in the world could be in Iraq, but no one would ever ride it, so is it really all that great?
