I was too high up to see the Millennium force hill I could see the small land mass in the lake and saw a whole bunch of light coming from it but it was beautiful.
1 tirp a summer isn't enough I need like 10. Durring science we started with forces all I could think about was Roller coasters.
Yeah new year, and finally got my license, well back in august. Im in need of a trip to the park.
I'm not arguing, I'm just stating a fact that is easily proven. Its others who were getting all upset at my suggestion. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the one who started the island part of the thread.
Anyway, CP is awesome to see lit up at night from anywhere off the park premises.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Wow how dense can some of you be? There is a picture right there that proves that it is an island. Unless I have some seeing disorder and can't see where any part of this "peninsula" connects to the mainland, somebody tell me how it is not an island.
Sorry, I didn't mean to come off as a prick or anything but its a stupid thing to argue about especially since the answer is right in that picture...which isn't questionable in the least. So...sorry.
Anyways, I've always wanted to see CP from a plane. I flew down to Kansas over the summer and when we took off the plan was riding over the water right by the coast and I was hoping to see CP. But we turned over land before we got there. I bet it is amazing though.
Cedar Point was an Island, I have an old Cedar Point video describing its early years. The speaker clearly states that it was an Island until Cedar Point built its causeway. So its still an Island with a man made bridge, I think its just accepted that its a peninsula becouse its so close to land, Just like Michigans upper and lower peninsula. Just becouse a bridge connects them does not mean there not peninsula's nor islands.

Every time I drove on the causeway, I seem to notice that
we cross a bride halfway across, that means its an

In 9 hours and counting. I'm thrilled by that fact.

Even after everyone here seems to realize it...you know, just refer to my first post on the issue. It describes you perfectly.
I remember sitting on the beach in Vermillion and watching the chase lights on Mantis shortly after it opened. Man, I'll miss watching CP from that beach; lots of good memories.

I am pretty sure I already know that the LP and UP are not surrounded by water on four sides thats what makes Michigan a Peninsula. Cedar Point is surrouned by four sides of water, which makes it a Island... Imagina that.
America's Roller coast
Go to the Cedar Point website and I GUARANTEE you will find the word "peninsula".
After all, it's 2005 not the late 1900's.
Come on you guys, your senseless arguing is making peoples heads explode!!

I think the islands referred to in the question are the Lake Erie Islands. The larger islands, Kelleys which is the closest, South Bass and the largest, Pelee among others do have people living on them. CPKid may not know that. These islands are in fact small villages so, you saw street lights, house and business lights.
Excerpt from Cedar Point Yesterdays
The above link will take you to a PDF file containing the first few pages of Cedar Point Yesterdays and goes into detail about the Cedar Point peninsula. The booklet was written by Charles Frohman, a local historian who collected more than 14, 000 historic photographs from the Sandusky area in addition to being the author of a number of books about local history.
