While at the point on Sunday, there was this young lady working at the entrance of TTD the line was all the way out the que gate and out past her, we asked her if they had any of the que lines open inside and how long the ride had been in operation since it was down before we walked over to MF she said "I dunno, i dont have a watch" and obliviously didnt want to be bothered by people asking her questions, she wasnt even bothering telling people coming into the line about glasses without the straps and hats and bags that needed to go into a locker. I know CP has staffing issues this time of year but jeez you think they would hire someone a bit more friendlier

This person was a Ride Pride, and is there as a volunteer. They generally only work one day or one weekend, so it's tough for them to learn everything about whatever ride they get placed at. CP doesn't get much choice in the volunteers that get sent, so occasionally there will be some that don't really care to be there. Most of them do a great job though.
I was going to say, I ran across numerous Ride Prides that were just as friendly as the people during the normal season.
Thrills Around the Corner!
Don't let the Ride Prides affect your view of the rest of us that are actually there because we want to be. Like Mark said, they're just there to raise money for an organization, and most of them don't really care, they just want to get it over with. Although I will say this; working entrance all day can get really tough, as the people at entrance usually put up with the most crap at rides from the guests.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
I'm just saying, that the fundraisers are not the best option by any means.
1.) They don't get the real, strict treatment that us normal employees recieve.
2.) They can care less about the job and the guests. They are lazy and slack, as far as I have seen.
3.) In the employee housing, they are very inconsiderate. Last weekend, there was a group of them, 15-20, outside the stairs going up one of the sides of a building. Loud, and drunk, pissing off of the stairs at 3 levels high, etc. Bathrooms, a mess. It was 2:45 in the morning, and quiet hours are 2-8.
And they're in our damn way.

That'd be "Fun Raisers" that work in merchandise... ;)

And, for the record, "could care less" (or in this case "can") makes no sense. That implies they care, which is not what you're trying to say.
Its "couldn't care less". :)

This sounds like the same worker that I came across the first Saturday during Halloweekends. It was near the end of the line at the of the day on Dragster and she was getting pissed at all the people in the front row, it pisses me off when you wait an hour or so you should pick what row you sit in!
I was leaving the Maverick photo store once and we did a front seat night time ride. I mentioned "oh my god the bugs", and I didn't hear it but my girlfriend said she did. An employee said "oh my god shut up".
I also walked in to the queue for the Maverick once after it had closed following another group in. There were more then a dozen people who decided to enter the queue and when CP police showed up they singled out two other groups, and girlfriend / myself. For the whole 9 yards...social security number, we need to see your I.D.'s (thank god we had them on us and not in a locker), etc etc.
I asked the cop why just a few of us were held up over such a small thing, and why many others (primarily people who were obviously here with their parents) got to just walk away. He started threatening me with criminal trespassing, and messing with a police investigation.
The cop wasn't discussing why several people got to just walk away.
Those are the only two rude employees I witnessed. I think the CP police were overall huge assholes and did a fine job of ruining the end of a vacation. For us to leave the line we had to wait a little over 30 minutes (he had a lot of writing to do with the half dozen or more).
In general the police are worthless at CP. They are never in the right spot at the right time. Ive seen them in the parking lots by Famous Daves from the MF line sitting there for half an hour plus talking. They haven't curved smoking in the park at all.
They don't control the lines during the daytime when people push through with beer in there hands yelling something like "BRANDON......BRANDON". I felt like just going welp...... "BOBBY.....BOBBY"...and walking to the front of the line.
Yes I did enter the Mav line after the guy shut the line off by like 5 minutes. But the pressure was too much considering how many people I saw doing it. I mean people just walked up and unhooked the chain.
So you admit to entering the line after it was closed for the night?
Are you aware that smoking pot, even if other people are doing it, will also get you arrested?
Its the same with driving drunk or even line jumping. Just because other people are doing it doesn't mean you can't get in trouble for it.

Also do you know how stupid that idea was? When the last person rides that ride, the employees get to go home (well after cleaning up but thats a fixed time where as waiting on guests to ride is not.) With such an obvious, tangible thing standing between them and their bed dont you think that they know exactly who the last legit rider is and watch the line like a hawk to make sure no one else enters?
Consider yourself luck that CP lets people ride at all after closing, at some parks when the clock strikes closing time, the rides shut down, and the people still in line have to turn around and go home. Dont complain about getting the fair treatment when others got let off, you broke a rule, now suffer the consequences.
^^^
So you want to call the police there assholes because they were doing their job and you broke the rules?
I'm confused, aren't you the asshole?

Ride on, MrScott!
I was a Ride Pride worker once. I worked a queue line for one weekend a couple of years ago with an organization I was in during college. It's an amazing way for an organization to make a lot of money for themselves really quickly. Ride Pride was the primary way we funded our organization year in and year out. We're grateful for CP offering this opportunity!
I (as well as the rest of my group) all love Cedar Point, so I had a blast and we all did absolute best job we could! Obviously, not everyone has this same attitude, and I'm disappointed to hear about this. I really hope CP still offers this opportunity - and that just a few Ride Pride workers don't blow it for everyone else.
In the meantime, just try to be patient with the "Ride Priders" and know that they're just trying to help their organization!

Many of the ride prides are very friendly and try to work hard. At this point in the season, it's pretty common to find ride prides that are friendlier than the regular employees who have been dealing with guests for a whole season. That's not to say there are never any ride prides that don't care or don't wish to be there, because it does happen. But honestly, I don't think the park could stay open in September and October without these groups.
