No argument here: Pipe Scream is not a coaster, as explained very nicely by Thabto.
But the park counts it as a coaster, so I'd be surprised if it doesn't end up on the fence with all the park's real coasters.

This may have been mentioned in another thread, but I was at the park yesterday and while walking up the midway near the demolished theater I noticed there was a decent amount of markings on the ground This was more in the area of the midway next to Raptor's Cobra roll for any one who wants to get a picture since I forgot to grab one. But then again, like a plain fence with signs on it, markings probably mean nothing too. ;)
I always rely on my 3 year old for the difficult questions in life such as this. Let's try it.
(pointing to a video of Lake Erie Eagles) "Hayden is that a roller coaster?" asks daddy.
"No!", Hayden exclaims with laughter.
"Why not?" asks daddy.
"Because it's Eagles!"
(pointing to of Pipe Scream) "Hayden is that a roller coaster?" asks daddy.
"Yes! That's a roller coaker!" she says with excitement.
"Why?" asks daddy.
"Because it's blue. Like a choo choo. The track is blue. That's not Thomas. Can I ride it now?"
"In about a week, Hayden", explains daddy.
"Show me more roller coakers!"
I guess it's a roller coaker, and I'm pretty sure it will be on the sign.
:)
Also, Wilderness Run and Rougarou are two different things. Wilderness Run was merely repainted and called something else. Mantis was actually killed and converted into a different type of roller coaster, so my bet would be that Wilderness Run will be added to the sign whenever Jr. Gemini was added, while Rougarou will be the last addition before the new coaster. Maybe we should ask Hayden?

^^ You wrote skeptical, but I think you actually meant believing.
In any event, it's still more fun to believe things like this have meaning than to think they don't.
No, I wrote "(overly) skeptical," and actually meant skeptical. I'm surprised more of us aren't considering a new coaster to go in that location, even regardless of the signs being there-- and not just because it's "fun to believe," but because it's more plausible than it's being made out to be.
You're right. I thought you were one of those poo'ing all over those that think a roller coaster is inevitable there.
Come on guys. Let's be realistic here...
A huge plot of land has been cleared. Significant.
Let's humor the skeptics here. Let's say CP will build some family flats, etc.
OH WAIT!
A timeline of the history of roller coasters is strangely placed on the fence covering this expanse of land, and even more strange, the timeline was left incomplete as if to be added in the future.
The signs are all there. Look at them. (no pun intended).
Why would promoting a park's coasters be "strange"? There's a fence; why not use it to promote the park? Why would not putting up all the park's coasters at once be "even more strange"? To me, that's PR 101.

It's clearly a coaster. It couldn't be more obvious. Anyone who doesn't think so is being overly skeptical or just isnt very bright. First off an email leaked talking about a Dive Coaster. Then Cedar Point makes a HUGE plot of land and they announce there going to reveal plans for 2016 in August and usually when they announce that early it's a new coaster. Now they are putting their coaster history on the fence leading up to the August reveal. Gee what could it be......

TTD2013, there's no reason to be afraid of Wilhelmina W. Witchiepoo. She's harmless. :-)
Now, I'm not saying 2016 won't bring a coaster to Cedar Point. It does seem likely. I just get skittish when talk turns to absolutes, and things like a stock photo used on a T-shirt become "proof".

Long time reader, first time poster here.
It appears that the order of the roller coasters being posted on the fence will follow an alphabetical order. This avoids the questions and issues that arise due to the name and branding changes that have occurred over the years. So far the order on the fence follows the way Cedar Point presents each roller coaster on its website.

Oranges, Poranges. Who said?
They won't be in alphabetical order, they will be in chronological order.

Valravn Rides: 24| Steel Vengeance Rides: 27| Dragster Rollbacks: 1
So, according to the dates listed on RCDB this should be the order of the timeline, with exception to Rougarou due to the consensus that Mantis was demolished and rebuilt as Rougarou?
What day of the week were the first two signs added? Do you think it is likely that the rest will be added the same day of each week? That makes sense to me. If so, when can we expect the next one?
Interestingly enough, I took the average of how many years until they build a new coaster and it came out to be every 3.25 (3) years. it will be 3 years in 2016 since Gatekeeper. This could mean something, or nothing at all. Just putting the math out there.
This is going off of CoasterHero's timeline

That's the safest, most foolproof prediction ever made. I'm 100% certain that you're correct.
