Of course it doesn't come out and say what this sign is building up to, but it's rather obvious, isn't it? It certainly communicates it to me loud and clear.
I wouldn't go so far as to say it offers any clues as to what type of coaster it's going to be, but this is a neat way to build up to the announcement in August.
Promoter of fog.
Again, I am all for skepticism and not trying to find meaning where there is none, but in this case it is the opposite and people are trying to find a lack of meaning where there is one...
A sign about the Coaster Legacy at Cedar Point which states that the Legacy will continue by itself would lead to speculation of a new coaster. Put that sign on a fence that surrounds recently cleared land and it becomes much more than speculation, yes, there will indeed be a new coaster of some sort on that land in the near future.
Obviously they are going to add a new coaster to this timeline ever week or so until the announcement in august. By the sign saying "These experiences are unmatched, and this history, this legacy, will continue here at The Roller Coaster Capital of the World" means they are planning something they don't already have (dive? flyer?), and something that is unique (world record breaking elements?). Maybe they're planning something totally unheard of like the Top Thrill Dragster or Millenium and creating a whole new type of coaster. Only time shall tell!
On a more trivial note, I'm wondering how they'll incorporate renamed coasters into the timeline (Wilderness Run and Rougarou). Will they be positioned by the year they were built (as Jr. Gemini in 1979 and as Mantis in 1996, respectively), or the year they were converted (2014 and 2015 respectively)?
And also if they'll include Pipe Scream. I've heard a lot of people consider it a flat ride, but the official website counts it as a coaster.
