They have to add all the steel bracing too. I don't know how long that generally takes.

Found out what 875 means. It's the marking given to the highest quality, purest gold. It's also an area code in California. This seems to be themed to the goldrush in some way.

^Even on the lift, the metal braces are done?
Yes, they appear to be additional bracing for gauging the width of the track. Something that I assume is important even on the spacing between the bents on the lift.

The original gold seekers were referred to as the "forty-niners" based on the year 1849. However, another descriptive term, prospectors was also used. Prospectors arrived by horse and carriage and were considered wild and unruly. Not sure what you could attach to this word for a ride name but seems like it could fit.
Tony did look awfully similar to a prospector chopping away at the mean streak.

Completed preassembled wood lift hill bents with Steel ledgers are stacked up on site ready for placement. They can be lifted one section at a time and installed quickly, I don't think the shape of the lift hill could take too much longer if they continued working this quickly.
codeGR, those OTSRs in the interview I'm pretty sure are just the makeshift restraints for the Raptor track prototype. I strongly doubt that we'll ever see OTSRs like that on New MS, or any RMC for that matter.
Here is the interview he is referring to: http://www.kxly.com/features/made-in-the-northwest/made-in-the-nort.../586841280
Yea, what you saw in the video was just a prototype and nothing to do with what we'll see on MS.
Fred Grubb did say that 2018 US Coasters will be receiving a new train design though. Hopefully the changes are for the better. I rode Lightning Rod and didn't think the trains were bad by any means, but there is some room for improvement. The shin guard isn't great and they are kind of boxy ala Magnum, Mamba, Steel Force, etc and it'd be nice if they were more open like the Millennium Flyers or an Intamin giga.
Just hope the new trains aren't a source of any issues at opening.

I hope the trains do away with the shin guards and become more open. I felt more stiff than on a B&M OTSR.

A Gold Rush theme would work pretty well, in my opinion. And I'm hoping with the revamp to Frontier Town, we see some new additions to the atmosphere back there. A few years ago, TTD120mph and I went to Knott's, and had a nice meal on a patio in Ghost Town, and they had a live gun fight right in the midway with some entertainers. It was really exciting, and fun for everyone in the area. Would love to see something like that at CP.

Given Knotts' location, this doesn't surprise me. I once ate at an IHOP down the street that had a bullet hole in the window.
Oh, you meant a FAKE gun fight.
