yea same here. I like it.was hoping for renegade, or stampede.
So is "Railblazer" plural (They're coming). I guess it doesn't need to be a hint at the name. could be for themed trains (like Maverick)
Or the multiple RMC's coming to the Cedar Fair chain this year and most likely in the years to come.
2018- Raptor
CP Top 5- 1)MF 2) Maverick 3) Gatekeeper 4) Top Thrill Dragster 5) Raptor
Yes, but the timeline for a raptor track ride at Knott's doesn't seem right if they're just now testing a back yard prototype. And the seats look funky, like they're not what the final product will be. I may be wrong, but the design process etc might take longer than that. I'd think a two year timeline at the least.
Btw, Railblazer (or Rail Blazer?) was the name of the failed Arrow standup at Six Flags St Louis, which may have been the first standup coaster ever. They retrofit one sign of the mine train with these odd coffin-like cars. They had horse collar restraints and a weird shin thing. One evening in 1984 a short 260 lb lady from Indy fell out, was fatally injured, and that spelled the end of that. Restraints were re-designed but things were never the same and it was finally removed.
It's a fine name, I guess, but for that reason I'm not a fan of it.
I like the name Railblazer (and learned a little history about roller coasters due it that I had not known before, so thank you RCMAC).
I'm not sold that it's for Cedar Point with all the other projects going on, though, as it doesn't sound all that western to me.
I do agree that the plural innuendo could be targeted at the trains and not just the name of the ride, but nothing about the name "Railblazer" makes me think of anything that would have to do with a Frontier Town theme. I would think that for this ride, which will literally become the marquee Frontier attraction, they would really exaggerate the western motif in every way possible.
It's actually a cool name for a roller coaster, all history aside, but I would hope for something with a bit more country to it.
Promoter of fog.

trail·blaz·er
ˈtrālˌblāzər/Submit
noun
a person who makes a new track through wild country.
It kind of sounds Western/Frontier to me if you look at the real word's definition. I don't think this is the name though.
Who doesn't get this? If indeed they're using Railblazer, then it would refer to a train. A really fast one that blazes along the rails. Hey, kind of like a coaster does! Maybe it's being chased by outlaws. And it's back there behind CP&LERR, so there's your theme. The trains could have neat locomotive fronts and flame decals on the sides. Or hey! Lightning bolts! What a tip of the cowboy hat that would be, huh?
Maybe I'm getting to like this name after all.
