RipCord

It's an eyeball and guess... and no offense Michael... But, you should be in a Red... Purple was normally only for people who were noticeably smaller... (5'5" or so, and normally under 200 lbs). It was very rare to put a grown man in a purple suit... hmmm...

Maybe things have changed since I've been there

Whats interesting is SkyCoaster actually has a Black suit as well

I wonder why CP doesn't have a few of those just in case...

They do have them.

Well thank you for the info 99er... Perhaps you can explain the other ways Ripcord has changed?

When did you work there?

Ripcord Crew 2002 / MF Crew 2004

I was told that there was really no limit an weight(which I'm sure there is) But I weigh 280 and am 6'2" and a friend of mine is about 6' and 190lbs and we rode together with no problems.

Yesterday was our last day at CP, so my brother, uncle, and I did Rip Cord. It was a really intense ride. It scared me when they dropped the floor in the box and we were hanging. :) Then, we went up. When the lady said for us to fly, my brother couldn't get the cord to rip for like 10 seconds, that was scary. But then, we went. What a way to end our trip! After that, we went over to Goofy Golf to do the go karts. Also, the ops. were saying how Montel Williams, the talk show host, had just been there and went on Rip Cord and was at the park.

When I went there was no wait. We walked out the Magnum gate expecting to book a time but they said we could go right away.

It is $45 for 1 person, not sure for 2, and $15 (each) for 3.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Yeah, we paid $15 each and only had to wait about 10 minutes.

$30 for one flyer, $44 for two, and $45 for three.

Are the black suits hanging out with the other suits, or are they in the Vertig...er... Ripcord storage building?

No offense taken at all. When I was on the skycoaster at SFoG in a purple suit it was extremely uncomfortable. There's nothing quite like being squished up from your feet and down from your shoulders while getting hoisted 200 feet up into the air. I actually felt a little less secure because of it because I felt like I was going to pop out.

Yeah... I know one of the scariest experiences for skycoaster flyers is being pressed into the shoulder straps tightly (normally due to a smaller suit). It's definitely an uncomfortable experience. And, at least to me doesn't feel quite as safe. What really scares people is when those straps squeak or creak while you are being winched up. I remember numerous times hearing people scream "IT MADE A NOISE!"....

That ride definitely has the highest fear factor in the park, In my opinion.

I did the RipCord at Kings Island, due to the $15 price, and it is indeed amazing. I might to CP's down the road, but it is hard to fork over that much. These are great attractions. The free fall part is amazing.

Thrills Around the Corner!

The scariest thing for me on there was when my brother couldn't get the cord to pull. He finally got it after about 10 seconds. :)

But isnt it expensive to go on RipCord?

That's why you only do it every once in a while.

^ Or with 2 other people to split the cost greatly.

When you compare to other Skycoasters outside of amusement parks, its not expensive at all. If three people go, its only $15 per flyer. That is only $6 more then parking, and what thrill do you get from that? It is worth the money to do it, even if its just once.

Go work at Michigan's Adventure. They have ride nights on Ripcord where you can fly for only $5.

-Matt

Or take a season pass coupon book to SFoG and ride for 5 bucks. Plus, it's a 200 foot model, not one of those wimpy 152 footers or that weird 18 foot model at Geauga Lake.
