Ride Painting

If they want to go with an unkempt, rustic appearance, Maverick's original red is too bright. It's starting to look almost pink or mauve as it fades. The rustic look would require starting with a much darker red, in my opinion.

If they touch Maverick they better put the fog back in the tunnel with working lights. :)

While the lights need to be put back in, the fog sadly can't since it kept setting off the fire alarms.

I think they should paint the track on Mantis orange. It would look like Dominator and Dominator is one of the coolest looking coasters imo. Might as well make it floorless as well ;)

I thought Maverick's "fog" effect was more of a heavy mist than an actual fog?

The lights for Maverick were operating last season.

Mantis should be painted the same exact colors as Iron Dragon. It'd be funny hearing people confuse them

This is correct.

At the very least, have a "wall" of fog at the entrance and/or exit of the tunnel.

And on the Maverick topic, I agree. It should be more rustic looking. Even if they painted it a dark red it would be awesome.

I like the original better on Mantis. No offense, but I think that is too dark!

I like the dark red on Maverick a lot. It just has more of a western feel to it.

I love the dark red much better than Maverick's current brigher red. And I think Mantis has one of the coolest color combos and looks awesome as is, but I think it would be cool for a future coaster to have an orange/blue paint scheme.

And Rcoaster10, I know I've told you before, but you have awesome ideas, and are great at allowing everyone else to visualize them with your photoshop work. Keep up the great work and ideas!

Agreed! I've often wondered that myself... I hope they get around to finishing the job soon. Given the ride's prominent location, any fading becomes instantly more noticeable and magnified IMO.

I could be wrong about this one but last coaster to get repainted I believe was the Blue Streak. Then Millenium did its first of two repaint process the following season.

Millennium started to get painted after the 2010 season. After the 2011 season, Millennium and Blue Streak were repainted. After the 2012, Millennium finished its three year paint job.

I'd just focus on the maintenance of Maverick, and just let the paint fade while letting the vegetation grow wild. If it does ever get repainted, I agree that burgundy-colored track would look better.
