And spieling is the "Oncoming riders, welcome to ___. Please remove all loose fitting objects and then place them into open bin on the exit side of the platform. Has anyone been nervous in their first time spieling? Haha Im a little bit shy so Im gonna be a little nervous I feel like lol

I was... But you get used to it, believe me. You can do it in your sleep! Sometimes literally :/

I absolutely hate public speaking, but spieling is nothing like that at all. Once you get the spiel down, it's easy and you're going to think to yourself "that's it?". Just think of it as your job (which it is), and you won't be nervous or shy about it. Especially after you say your first "Welcome back riders, how was your ride?" and you get a loud cheer from the ride. What ride are you on?

Im not sure yet. I have my second interview next week with steve! So its gonna be in area 3 lol i really hope he hires me!

I am probably the most shy person you will ever meet. It took me all through training week to get it down. But come opening day I was a pro. It's actually turns out to be fun!

So what do they do that week of training to get you ready? Haha

You learn everything there is to know about operating your ride! You learn the spiels you learn everything! And it's actually allot of fun!

Sweet! So would you say I have a good chance of getting the job? I passed my phone interview and i have my in person one next week

Yes. Just be yourself. These Skype and in person interviews are new and they didn't do that when I got hired a couple years ago. I think it's just to have a more formal face to face interacted interview with you. I would not worry about it. The manager you're interviewing with is very easy going so just be yourself.

Yeah, don't worry about spieling, by the end of your first month you'll be saying it in your sleep.

I don't mean that figuratively either.

Is it weird I'm actually coming up with spiels for Gatekeeper before I even get to the park? I can imagine it being a rainy day and saying something like "man, if only there was an indoor coaster here at Cedar Point, maybe even in this exact same spot, sure would be nice".
