I agree with Greg. At Coaster Solace, they SLOWLY pushed the bars down to a snug position. Then they would give a good tug on the seatbelt. Not once did I get jammed. Like ride ops on Expedition GeForce in Germany. That was insane!
Yeah, but it´s great fun to see the reactions of some people to that. I can tell, because I work in SF Holland in summers, and closing the lapbars on Goliath is always great fun...:
-pffff
-auch!!
-does it really need to be closed that tight??
-I´ll sue you!!
-I gotta go pee...
-etc. etc.
I have been stapled before on some rides at Cedar Point. I remember once a ride on Magnum was very painful after a ride host leaned into my lap bar with all his weight. That is cruel and I hope they disciplined that host. But making a restraint snug is another story.
It is a fine line between snug and pain. Having the operator push your bar gently down snug with you is appropriate, slamming it down with all their weight, or even receiving comments like gijs just stated are uncalled for.

I guess like most things, after so long they start to get lazy, and untill aother fatal incident happens at Knotts, we will be able to breath on rides again.
Yeah, that must be it...

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.
When I do close a restraint roughly, the rider is someone I know, and when that person knows I´m justing playing......
