I didn't see it myself, but my younger brother claimed the top level was the only one opened earlier this year in July. He isn't the most trustworthy person though.
Just the idea of being able to see frontier town from a fresh vantage point I guess. That and just think of a view from the space spiral from MF island. I personally think having midways in any view would be interesting.
There is no point on relocating the SS. I wish they would have air conditioning in the ride though.

To answer the question about the foundation, I just rode it yesterday and the recording on the ride stated 30 feet underground.

Yeah that sounds right. I think it will stay right where it is until the cost to maintain it isn't worth it anymore.

The SS (and its location) seem (to me) to be one of those iconic images at CP...no matter how old it gets. I would argue that it is as iconic as the corkscrew slipping across the midway.
I can see it being refurbished, but not taken down, or relocated, ever, really. At least in my lifetime.

No it is made by Von Roll Ltd., Berne, Switzerland. :) Intamins are usually fatter and one story leveled.
