I have something interesting! I made it in English when we had to make a prologue like how Geoffrey Chaucer did in the Canterbury Tales. It had to be about a journey to a significant place with 4 travelers(describing them in detail). And for extra credit I wrote it in rhymed couplets.
Its a bit long but here it goes:
It is to be said that where I go
Is a place of weekly trips, except during snow.
A place that is my source of greatest desire.
Where there are things as tall as buildings, some even higher.
It’s known by many people it seems
Know by it fans as a place of dreams.
It’s called Cedar Point and even it harks
The squeamish of people into the park.
There are four of us, all fans, though one is new
To our group, yet even he has been through
The entire park, and knows the coasters,
Heck even HE collects the posters.
He dresses lightly in hot weather,
And in colder months, wears a sweater.
Tall, with glasses, very nerdy in expression
"What a loser!" would be your first impression.
His face is pale, white from no sun
Staying inside till a job of his was done.
The other two are brothers, one young, one old,
Both are prepared, and at times will hold
A bottle of water so neither has to stop
For drinks, be it lemonade or pop.
They dress alike, both have matching shirts
That are dark in color so they show no dirt.
That’s the gang of which I’m the leader,
No one else is better, and no one is weirder.
And like I said, we meet every week
At the gates before the sun can even peak
Over the lake to usher in the morning,
We find the wait to be joyous not boring.
But there’s a trick to each of us,
And it’s that we live far, farther than a bus
That can take us from our houses
Our work and even annoying spouses.
But why make these trips, do we seem crazy?
Is it not better that we go and not be lazy?
And stay at home where we fester
Only to have a sibling bother and pester?
So it’s our decision to go and meet
At the park having fun is what we seek.
We always end our trips with one last ride
On a single coaster to which we devote all our pride.
And when the day is done we bid farewell,
Reflecting the highlights of the day and to tell
How much we've enjoyed each others company
On the trips of which there are many.
Then we plan the next meeting, our next gather
At Cedar Point......because leaving cant be any sadder.
The End! :)

It's cool how you brought this thread back to life 7 years in a row now. Great poem!

Another cold and miserable off season....what a bore.
No midways or coasters along the Lake Erie Shore.
No more shows, boardwalk fries or jokes from Paddlewheel's crew.
Sorry folks, park's closed. Beagle out front shoulda told you.
What can we do and how will we cope?
Heck why try, there's no hope!
This season was perfect, that's for sure.
It went by so fast, it's nothing but a blur.
Still 4 1/2 months to go, it sounds too long!
I'm gonna hate it too, don't get me wrong.
But there's a new year approaching and it'll be great!
I don't know about you, but I can hardly wait.
So buckle in and try not to be a scorner.
After all, the 2009 season is just around the corner.
So enjoy Pointbuzz, the CP fan site with the most!
Only 158 days left until America's Rockin Roller Coast!
:)
