Ugh. You shop at Walmart?
You know, you could spend that $20+ each summer on one pair flip flops from a real store, such as Target, or even a shoe store (*gasp*), and not only would those superior products last longer than 9 days, you'd also avoid giving your money to such a terrible corporation.
That's what we call a "win-win".
Wow, I agree with dj for once!
Go buy some Birkenstocks, trust me on this. Your feet will thank you now AND later.

Mark your calendars. :)
Yeah, while Birkenstocks represent the upper-echelon in terms of that type of footwear, they are worth every penny. But even what I wear now, cheap $15 sandals from Target, have been incredibly durable and surprisingly comfortable, even walking around CP.
It doesn't piss me off in the slightest. It just makes me think less of you as a person. Though, in your case, I'm not sure that it matters. ;)
It has nothing to do with the corporate "machine", and everything to do with choosing to support companies who abide by the most basic of human principles and business ethics.
What I am saying is that they told me to put a shirt on over my bathing suit top and all I have seen around the park are large-sized people wearing barely anything and they don't get in trouble when they ride rides, which I have seen on the platforms of various rides. I am thin and not large and hanging out all over the place, and I am the one who gets in trouble, not the tub-of- lard people running around and hoppin on rides.
How do you know that the, er, Tub-of-Lards weren't asked to put on a shirt? I mean, not all the ToLs saw you get asked to put on a shirt, correct? Only the people in your immediate vacinity, right? Well, possibly the ToLers were asked to wear shirts and you just didn't see it happen.
I have seen plenty of people both thick and thin wear bathing suit tops. I suppose that more frequently the larger girls were in one peice suits, which may make a difference in enforcing the shirt policy, I don't know.
One thing I do know from experience is that most overweight people suffer thier whole lives from humiliation and the derision of thier peers. I don't advocate going around in a bathing suit at a theme park, but you know, I'd be damned before I'd let someone grousing about how I am a tub of lard stop me from something I wanted to do, like enjoy CP's water rides.
The pictures posted are funny, and I appreicate the humor and the occasional fat joke, but jeez, lady, there's a nicer way to treat people, and think about them, than to be so disgusted by other people who are just living thier lives and haven't hurt you.
"You only live once. If you live like I do, once is enough!" - Frank Sinatra
Human principles and business ethics? If they were OMGTAKINGADVANTAGEOFEVERYONE like people suggest, then nobody would work for them. They're obviously doing something right.
Well since the shirt policy has obviously been over-discussed I'll jump on this too.
I found it rather humorous that they tried to influence how people vote because the Democrats support a bill that would make it easier to unionize. If that doesn't tell you all there is you need to know then I don't know what will.

I always buy the cheap ones at wal-mart.
They are only cheap if you don't value your soul.

Don't tell me now that Cedar point is going to ban park guests from wearing flip flops now! :) It's bad enough with the shirts........
It would only make sense to encourage them to vote in a way beneficial to the company - I just don't see what's so wrong I guess. They aren't holding people hostage at gunpoint to work for them.
Certainly no worse than every like every union in the country always wanting democrats to win - and using the dues of their members to try to make it happen.

I have a 2 year old son and a budget. I buy them at wal-mart because if I choose to only buy one pair, they are less than $2. I buy more than one, not because they fall apart (they do not! I have plenty from summers before). But because all of my flip flops get dirty, no matter where I buy them from. So I buy about $10 pair, one of each color, so that they can go with different outfits (yes, I guess you could say that's going with fashion. But trust me, I do not buy them for fashion...because they are far from being fashionable.) Then I buy new ones next summer, because my old ones are dirty.
I know the story behind Wal-Mart, how they are horrible, and how badly they treat their employees. But I do not think that my $10 per year there is going to hurt anything. I rarely shop at Wal-Mart, unless I need something very cheep. I prefer Meijer anyway. :)
ps. If it makes any of you happy, I did not purchase any flip flops at Wal Mart this year. I bought my only pair at the dollar store. They are holding up nicely too, thankyou. :) And Mike (Ensign), I put up with a cranky 2 year old everyday, and take pretty good care of him. I also pay my own bills, and have a good work ethic. I think you could trust me as an adult, even if I wear flip flops. ;)

Do you have any idea how bad those are for your feet? There isn't an ounce of support in either of them. I'm sure you're young though but trust me, if you start wearing good shoes now your feet will thank you for years to come.
