Radio?

ClearChannel owns everything anymore. They own six stations in my old home market (Columbus) with more purchases probably on the way.

You can tell by the voiceovers on Mix that it is a ClearChannel pop station, but the staff is pretty good...they talk local, they make it a hometown station even with the parent company looming over them. The music's not that repetitive, as you'd expect from CC, either. They play alot of 80's and 90's recurrents in with their new stuff.

Their program director, Randy Hugg, said I should bring in one of my old airchecks from WLGN, but I can't find one for the life of me.

I like Trance and other dance music like eurobeat/eurodance. I know in the San Fransisco Bay Area, they got a station called the Party which plays that kind of music with virtually no commercials.

Is there a station similar to that which I can recieve in Sandusky?

89x (CIMX/Windsor-Detroit) is Canadian, eh? While they now have the same giant corporate owner that half the US stations do.

ClearChannel? I thought 89x was still owned by CHUM Limited.

CHUM owns 89X....

It's a real struggle for a station to keep it's identity once the CC buzzards (no pun intended) swoop in. The one I worked for was buried.

Many kudos to any station staff who can keep a CC station local and respectable.

You can get a lot of Detroit stations in Sandusky.

89X, 96.3 and 95.5 were the ones I tried and they all came in fine.

92.5, 96.5, 88.7, 106.5, 109.7, 98.3 and 92.1 are my presets. They're about as good as you'll get unless your into classical or jazz or something.
I've picked up Live 97.1 FM near the causeway. If you like the Talk that rocks Detroit, tune into 97.1. :)

I own you!

make sure you don't have a weak stomach when listening to K&T on 97.1! most.. disgusting.. radio.. ever!

I also can get the WRIF in sandusky (101.1)... pretty decent station... great jocks too.. Drew and Mike in the mornings, and then in the afternoons and overnights on weekends they have a jock named shaffe who rocks ;) used to be here in Lansing

I've been happy with my classic rock (94.7 in Detroit and 94.5 out of Toledo). but then, I'm a "classic" myself.

If my son checks this forum, I'm likely to be overruled and the radio will be tuned to 89X.

I look foreward to seeing you and Kara at the Point. Pick a day when she is off and let's go have fun!

89X is a Detroit station based out of Windsor. CHUM Limited owns it. http://www.chumlimited.com/radio/stations.asp
is 102.7 stil "The NEW Mix 102.7"? It was "new" in 1998, and when I was up there this last summer (2002), it was still "The NEW Mix 102.7". When I worked there, I always listened to 89X.

89x has been around for over 9 years I think, and its a decent alternative station when I want to listen to muzak which seems like never

Well, when CrookedChannel bought out our station and turned it into Mix 98.1, it's been the NEW Mix 98.1 ever since, and that was 1999.

I mean, how long has it been the NEW TNN?
