PT airtime

Hey i got a question. when your on the turbo drop and your waiting to fall, how long do you wait for? Or is it different every time?

But one thing I love about Power Tower is that it is so open that it feels like you are going to fly out of the thing. I think that's how it differs from Demon Drop too. The seats are so open that it is even more scary.

Ohio State, here I come!

it really is a good sensation and its one of my favorite rides period. i love the openess like jeff da beat does, and i also love the floating sensation. it is really very relaxing in my opinion. i also like the way that the launch isnt very intense at all. the openess and floating both add up for a very amazing expirience which i love. it also helps when you take your shoes off to add to the openess :). but i can see why people are afraid of it because of the openess might be just a little bit too open. they might not feel safe.

How does the turbo drop side differ from the Intamin drop rides? Is there much of a diffrence? And also, do you think that the space shot side is better than Tower of Terror in Disney World?

I personally love the feeling that you get in your stomach as you drop, it's like no feeling that you get from a roller coaster.

You like that feeling? I hate it. im pretty sure i think. Because i hate riding down the first drop on roller coasters so i cant imagine what it would be like if i rode power tower.

Well in my opinion i think Disney's Tower of Terror is a lot more fun than Power Tower, becasue there are multiple drops that you get that feeling in your stomach as opposed to PT Drop side where you only get that feeling once.

Disney's Tower of Terror is my favorite non rollercaoster ride ever, the theming just adds to the great ride.

The first time I rode PT Turbo Drop I was scared as soon as they locked us in and started raising us to the top, becuase you got to look at the ground getting further and further away.I was sooooooooo nervous and I was having a convo w/my friend in the seat next to me and all of the sudden... "SCREAMMMMMMMMM!" and we floated down. I laughed the whole way down, but it was the only ride that really got me SUPER nervous and even after I was still shaking!
brennan, i disliked the first drop on a lot of roller coasters, especially mf, until i became relaxed. i always used to clinch whenever it was the first hill and it wasnt a very good expirience. but then one time i rode it really relaxed like im sitting right now, and it was amazing.

I believe the Intamin Drop is only a drop. It's a free fall, whereas PT blasts you down. Not just allowing you to fall on your own.

I am really scared off PT. I'm not scared of any coaster but I'm scared of PT. For some reason I'm always afraid that the restraints going to pop open. Its scary up there.
that's why its best being shot up. you are up there before you can start worrying about the thing malfunctioning.

My favorite thing about PT is watching everyone check their seatbelt clip when they are waiting to get launched on the space shot side. For some reason, they believe that as soon as the ride begins to move up a little bit to get the clear signal, the seatbelt will magically unclip and the harness will raise up. For those that have ridden PT, I'm sure you'll agree that the harnesses are much heavier then others in the park. It takes a little more pull to get it down which is another reason why I don't fear the thing flying up on me. I rode PT 3 times today (all space shot) and I really love the ride. Just do it once and you'll love it.

First Wicked Twister was toned down, then Power Tower, whats next? Dragster??

It's already been toned down. No one will really be able to notice, but I have. The launch used to be extremely quick, it took about three seconds to get to 120. Now it's closer to four. You can hear the hyrdaulics room power up and it sounds a bit slower. It's hard to explain and I only know since I worked there. You can't feel the difference, that's for sure!

Like someone said, Power Tower actually LAUNCHES you down. I went on Drop Zone at Carowinds, the drop is amazing, the ride up isn't to bad because it goes as fast as MF's cable, faster and faster, the higher you go up. That one just lets you go down, but Power Tower pushes you down, which means a WHOLE LOT of airtime.

The thing I love about Power Tower is watching folks when the car rises a little. They believe it is the ride about to take off but I generally warn them that it isn't the car rising, but the words, "clear" that will send them to heaven.

i know this is a little off topic but it has some relevence, my folks just got back from a trip up to niagara falls, when they were there they went to marineland, and told me about a new ride they had just finished building...it is a triple tower, space shot/turbo drop that is 450 feet tall!!! yes i didnt stutter , 450 feet tall, all though it only reaches speeds of 60 mph (which i think is hard to beielve that thats as fast as it goes), but imagine the airtime let alone the view... that would be one hell of a ride

------------------
TTD=11(frontseat=3)double digits baby!!!
rollbacks seen=10...3 almost stopped at top
rollbacks that i have been on=1

umm go to http://www.marinelandcanada.com/attractions/newattractions/

theres yer proof,i dont think you looked to hard on the websitecause it was on the main page basically

I have heard that the Marinland ride is a 300' tall ride, built on a 150' tall hill. The advertising may be a little misleading.

------------------
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

i went on a less profesionnal site made by someone else i guess, sorry.

and if that 150 foot tall hill thing is right, then that's really messed up. the smokey mountain parks could advertise about have ride that reached over 1000 feet.
