Are you kidding? I am more afraid of Power Tower than I am of Millennium Force because there is so much air time. Get on the turbo drop, it gives the most.

Ohio State, here I come!

I've gotten airtime on both the drop and the shot. Just after you reach the top for the shot side, the car drops and you float out of your seat.

I am also more afraid of PT than any coaster I've ever been on, mostly the slow rise to the top of the drop side and just sitting 240 feet in the air feeling like there is nothing around or below you. But I ride it anyway.

Put your arms and legs out parallel to the ground. It's more fun that way.

i love going on the shoot up. it feels like im floating when im at the very top. you can't beat having a great view and being weightless for a long time.

Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription... is more cowbell!

Something "ain't right" with the space shots this year. I've been on twice and both times I thought there was a mis-fire because it was weak and we didn't get even remotely close to the top. Most disappointing, and I hope this isn't new "normal" operation.

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

I've never been on Power Tower (never been to the point), but I've been on the Intamin drop tower at PCW and Tower of Terror at Disney World so I'd imagine that they'd be quite a bit like those. Tower of Terror is the most amazing ride that isn't a roller coaster that I've ever been on. It is like both sides of Power Tower combined into one. and it's in the dark so you have no clue at all about what's happening. The neat thing too is that it's never the same ride, it changes after every "launch" (can't think of what else to call it), and that you only have a lap bar, that gives it a really diffrent feel. I definitly agree with the parallel arms and legs, you float like mad doing that. Something that I would like to try is a stand up drop tower, but there's none of them anywhere near me.

The PT is the only ride I am terrified of. I rode the Millennium Force before I rode the PT. But when I rode the Turbo Drop side I freaked out. I was seriously in a state of panic up at the top. For some reason I knew I was going to fall or something. I read a story once about a kid who rode one and his seat came off and he fell to the ground and died. I don't know where that was at though. I try to avoid the PT as much as possible because I don't like it at all.

I know what you mean Jeff. It seemed before it almost felt like you hit the top, there would be a little jolt and your legs would flip out from below you. This year it felt nothing like that, and it even looks like it is going no where near the top. First Wicked Twister was toned down, then Power Tower, whats next? Dragster??
I noticed that same thing opening day this year on PT with the space shot sides. Kind of disapointing.

The space shot problem does not bother me one bit because I never plan to ride anything with Power Tower. ;). That ride is the only ride in the park that just scares the living hoots out of me, and I hate riding it. The space shot side isn't as bad but I still dont like to ride it. However coasters dont scare me at all :)

I love doing the Turbo Drop, especially first thing in the morning. I'm always amazed at how short the PT line is early in the day. I'll do Drops until I see that Maggie is running, usually after 3-4 rides. PT doesn't have ERT, but almost always opens early(often by 9:35AM).

It puts a smile on my face when I hear talk of how the PT Drop is scarier than MF. I've never ridden MF, or WT, or TTD; and I probably never will, due to size resrtictions. When I look at those rides, though, I feel curious as to how high the thrill level actually is.

I didn't see anything wrong with the space shots last weekend, they all flew right up to where the turbo drop launches.

Now tell me Cedar Point is running out of space.

Speaking of PT..... The other night I rode the turbo drop near closing time and had a great ride. After exiting and watching the next car go up the back side(closer to rear of park), I noticed it bobbing up and down at the top. For some reason it wouldn't hook in at the top and bobbed up and down for about 30 secs. The car was then slowly lowered back down and the riders where escorted to the other tower. Has this happened before?

I can only imagine how scary it would be for that to happen, seeing as how PT scares the crap out of me when its workinhg right.

I am kind of afraid of PT. It took me 3 years and Avalanche Sam to convince me to ride Drop Zone at PKI.

However, CP FANatic, if you want to hear about scary, I was working at PKI as a person who sells the glow necklaces and light sticks and the light up stuff on the carts, I saw that the "car" of Drop Zone was stuck at the top. It was stuck there for at least 3.5 hours. Apparently the latches on the "car" wouldn't unhook. It required that PKI send a crew of mechanics, by helicopter, to manually, with winches and other stuff at the top of the tower, unhook the "car" and let the thing fall normally. Luckily, since Drop Zone uses permenant magnets, they could let it drop normally.

Funny, every time I've been to the park this season, I've remarked that the Space Shot has made it all the way to the top, unlike last year- and the airtime at the time has been better than ever when you don't hold on.

Wow, PT is the most amazing non coaster ride i ever been on. I been on it 30+ times this season. It is amazing. That airtime is incredible.

About the space shots' speed, I find it fluctuates quite a bit from different days and even sometimes in the same day that you're there. I ride it a few times every time I go just because of the non-existent wait, and some rides you won't float at all at the top, other times you'll feel like you're going to shoot through the OTSRs. As for the drop side, I do find it the more suspenseful of the two but I think if you get the spaceshot on a good day it'll give you more air. I think the scariest part of the turbo drop is when you're clamped to the top and it makes the loud noise...it always freaks a few people out.

The best thing about PT is when there's all of these big and tough dudes screaming their heads off and you're having a casual conversation with your friend.
I have noticed on Pt that the shoot up side toward the back side is much stronger than the one near the front of the park. I agree that on the space shot yopui get tons of air it is my all time favorite ride.
