You know I always don't know what to say to people when they say they are pregnant

You know....?

"Aww I'm sorry" or "That's great!"

Your husband would need to be quick. Real quick

Well my wife is also pregnant and my CP plans are out this summer. This is just great. Last summer I didn't ride one coaster because of a back injury and now that I am healed my wife is put on the shelf. I would just go with some friends but she is having a very complicated pregnancy and can't be on her feet for longer then an hour. She got very emotional (real shocker there) when I suggested I go without her. Any suggestions on talking her into it???PLEASE??ANY?? I can't go two years without a coaster. One summer was bad enough, but now I'm looking at two!

Is she on complete bedrest? If not, perhaps you could rent a wheelchair for her, if her doctors approved and she was so inclined. My wife has a disability that prevents her from standing or walking for any great length, and we found last year that that solution worked rather well. Other things you could do -- get a hotel room and give her a shorter stint at the park, then drive her back to the room for some much-needed rest while you go get a few more rides to end the day.

I hope you get a chance to at least get a few coasters this year, and especially that her pregnancy is healthy from here on out.

That's actually a really good idea. My wife's 8 months pregnant right now and we're going to Thunder over Louisville this weekend. (if anyone knows what that is) There's a lot of walking around the riverfront and she can't handle it at this point. Wheelchairs, we found, are very reasonable to rent. We got one for 10 dollars per day.

Thanks for the advice. She is close to being on complete bed rest. She could last maybe 2 hours max. The big thing with her is she loves coasters to and CP is a special place for her as well. She would be a big stick in the mud cause she can't ride. That being said, she is sched. for a c-section July 25th so I just may be able to go the end of August. It's more so her emotions stopping me from going rather than her condition. But I am seriously jonesing for CP so I may just have to take her being mad at me ;)

Or promise her bonus time at the park to make up for it, say during Halloweekends if she's recovered suitably by then.

^^Thunder is a good time, and a super fireworks display! I will be riding my bicycle all day, visiting all my friends at different spots. They also have valet parking for bicycles, and I can make it back to my house in about 20 minutes. The traffic is a nightmare when it is over, especially when the weather is nice. Also if you drive you have to park miles away, unless your early or show up super early.

Winston306,

I have sat back and not said a word, but now, I think it is time. And by the way, I too am pregnant and I love CP, and here are MY emotions.

You know how many people in this country/world would DIE to be in your position? Some women can't get pregnant and all you worry about is whether or not you get to go to CP? Are you kidding me? Do you have any idea what a woman goes through when they are pregnant? This is a huge life changing/body changing event and you are being freaking selfish about whether or not you get to ride coasters. GET OVER IT, CP will be there next year. Get your priorities straight. Your wife should come first over CP, EVERYTIME, not just because you haven't been on a coaster in over a year.

Let's Get Weird.

Did someone seriously mention Richard Kinzel as a name? It's bad enough we have one, we really don't need another. :)

And I agree with the theory that: your wife's pregnancy is your priority, not Cedar Point, why? Because CP is not a miracle, a child is. I'm hoping you were just venting frustration and aren't actually serious about confusing priorities.

How is trying to figure out a way to go to CP for one day making it a priority over her pregnancy?? Don't act as if you know me. To call me selfish based on one subject is not nice nor a wise thing to do. But lets just review some things you don't know about me or my situation...

We already have two children. My wife wanted a third but I did not. But as I saw how important it was to her I got on board. Now, life happened and for reasons I will not disclose to you (must be my selfish side), she was not able to conceive any longer. We went to a specialist who said he could make it happen, of course for some major $$$. This was money we did not have. So I got a second job to pay the doctor that would make it all happen. Now towards the end of saving I hurt my back while working. However, I continued to work with this injury because there was no other way of paying for what we needed to be done. I continued to work two jobs, in pain, which in turn made my injury much much worse. So much so, they would no longer allow me to work because I was in severe pain. Nearly needed an operation but by gods good grace physical therapy fixed me. Well everything worked and she got pregnant. I worked two jobs and was dead tired for nearly a year. I was laid up in mass amounts of pain that I don't wish on my worst enemy for 6 months. All this for my wife who dearly wanted a third child. Yes, I'm a very selfish person.

I don't think asking people here, which was mostly in good fun, on how to talk her into me going or trying to find a way to go, is selfish. If you still think it is, which I'm sure you will, I really don't care. People on here are way over sensitive and are quick to jump on others. I guess you did not see the people's responses with advice? Are you ready to kick them in the balls as well? Maybe you should, as you said, "GET OVER IT".

This will be my last post to this site. I try to have fun conversation with people. I'm not here to debate the meaning of life and I don't come her to be lectured by people. The most amazing part of this whole sorted incident is the fact you kept your mouth shut for as long as you did. Notice how I'm not making any comments or thoughts I am speculating about your pregnancy? I sure as hell could because I got a few. I won't because I don't jump to conclusions based on a few words someone posts here. It would be an ill-informed opinion of you. I just keep my mouth shut about things like that. Perhaps you should do the same.

Yeah, we go every year so I'm pretty familiar with the traffic. Just for your info, if you do ever drive, there's a lot at the corner of Ali Blvd. and 2nd street. Park there and you can exit through the sound bound alley, left on Chestnut and right onto I 65. You beat all the traffic. We stayed at the Breckinridge Inn on the east side and it only took us 30 minutes to get back.
