Looks like my plans for rollercoaster rides have been altered for this season of CP! I have a bun in the oven. What now? I may have worked at the Point for a season, but I never saw even one pregnant woman. What are the rules? Yes it would not be so fun walking around doing nothing, but are big bellied woman allowed to roam the park?

Im sure they will let you in, but I doubt you will be able to ride much of anything. You can check the park site, they will tell you which rides you can do, but my personal bet is that anything beyond the train, shows, and sky ride are going to not allow you to ride.
However, congratulations! Its just one summer, and just think soon you'll be able to introduce a child to the park.
:) Thanks. I love the train, I would love to ride it over and over and over! I am so bummed in a way, I want to ride all my favs! I should be due at the end of September, maybe I still have a chance to enjoy CP at the end of Oct? Ha, fat chance, this is my first so I think I'm gonna need all the help I can get!
I had a friend who went to CP who got the okay from her doc, but personally, I would never try it.

You will of course be able to get in. Since you are pregnant you can just enjoy the great atmosphere of CP! Walk on the beach, walk around the park, and watch the rides.
Now this couple they might not let in:

My wife and I just had our little one, I'm not sure if Cedar Point has this policy or not, but this past fall we went to Worlds of Fun here in Kansas City and they let my wife in at the Jr/Sr rate because she was prego.
I would say, Train, Paddle wheel, Space Spiral,Skyride, and MGR in a chariot. Giant Wheel may push it a bit.
I'll be Coasting for Kids on June 9th

Congradulations! You know that you are allowed in the park. You just wanted to come brag about being a new mommy. ;) I am just kidding with ya.
If the baby is due the end of September, you should probably still beable to make it to the park sometime in October. Unless you have to have a c-section. Then your recovery time might cut into Cedar Point time. :(
"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"
Congrats Ivy! Look at it this way: You have an opportunity to see the park from a different perspective. Instead of filling your day with coasters, you can take in all the shows, arcades and the calmer rides. Take a sit now and then, sip on your favorite drink, nibble on a snack and take in the people and atmosphere that may in the past have simply flew by on your quick walk to the next coaster.
Thanks Hoosier!
I wonder in all CP's history, if anyone has went into labor at the park?

You must absolutely visit Cedar Point when you are pregnant, and here's why-
I was born in October of 1954 in Sandusky, Ohio. While my Mom was never an amusement park fan, she was a fan of Sno Cones and really craved them when she was pregnant with me. So just about every night of that long hot summer she made my dad put her in the convertable and drive her over to Cedar Point. They would park on the sand, get her a Sno Cone, and stroll the park and boardwalk while she ate it. Even though they moved to Dayton when I was two, and as crappy as the park was back then, I just gotta believe I must've absorbed something in all those visits to make me love Cedar Point the way I do, and why I feel like I'm "home" there! So if you want your bun to be a CP enthusiast too, make that trip to the park, have your favorite treat, and give your soon- to- arrive the grand tour!
Mom passed away in August of 2006, and on the first Mother's Day without her, I loaded up the car and headed for my annual week stay at the Breakers. I was in no real hurry as Maverick would not be ready yet. So I took my time and on the drive up thought a lot about Mom and how strange it was to be going to CP without spending the day with her first. When I arrived at the park I decided to go back to Maverick for a look (and a beer) and on the way I noticed a brand new little building by the Mine Ride near the Carp Feeding Frenzy attraction. Curious, I detoured over to see what this new building was - I hadn't heard of any other additions to that area of the park. I stopped in my tracks when I got close enough to read the sign over the window - Sno Cones! Well, all I could do right then was head for the nearest bench and with tears streaming down my face, looked up and thanked Mom for the message -and for my first trip ever to Cedar Point.

Thanks for sharing that CP Mac. I'm going to go call my mom now.
Congrats Ivy! Will there be a CP themed name perhaps?
Second that. Thanks, CP Mac. That was a very touching story. I'm glad that, even though she's in her sixties now, my mom still enjoys going to the parks with me and riding (most) of the rides.
Ivy, congratulations! When's your due date? I'm guessing your little one will come by no later than the end of August? If so, you may still have opportunity to get to the park and enjoy the thrill rides during Halloweekends. Just make sure to line up a baby-sitter early . . . I speak from personal experience.

Congrats on the new arrival coming! I know that you will be so excited to have the little one!
Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs
I too am pregnant (I am due the week before Coastermania). I had to spend closing day watching my friends and husband enjoy the short lines to Maverick, MF, WT, and Raptor :(
For those who don't want to really know, skip this part ;)
**The Dr. advised me that initially being pregnant, being on a roller coaster could seperate the placenta from the uterus, therefore, the baby would die and so could I.**
I spent the last day at CP enjoying the atomosphere and I did ride the Giant Wheel. But seeing my friends was worth it, although my heart ached terribly because I couldn't ride, I just summed it up as "CP will be here next year", and we can take advantage of the parent swap program. Now I will have a reason to ride Jr Gemini! :)
Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast
I took my daughter on Jr. Gemini when she was 1 year, 5 months old. So it really wasn't that long of a wait.

You see plenty of them, pregnant or not ;)
I actually rode coasters till I was in my 5th month, but I carried small. My doc never had an issue with me riding coasters (till 3rd tri) he was more worried about me riding horses.
I will never forget a judge at a horse show giving me all sorts of heck when she found out I was 7 months pregnant and still jumping my horse. Classic! :)
Jo
It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?
First of all, I think it's great if you can make an effort to go, even if you go just to take in the sites...
I dragged my wife to CP when she was pregnant with our second child. She was optomistic about it as it was Halloweekends, and there would be alot more "non-ride" attractions to do. However, she never planned for the morning-sickness, and had a difficult time with all the amusement park smells. So, I only caution you on that part...amusement park food and CP's famous trash can displays made the trip unpleasant for her.
I had a friend who was a ballet dancer and also a horse trainer. When she became pregnant I asked her what was to become of her hobbies in the meantime. She said the doctors told her that, within reason, whatever she was normally in shape for and used to doing all the time should be fine for the baby until, like Jo said, the third trimester or so.
It's a moot point, however, as far as Cedar Point goes! As HoosierTTD pointed out, there's a safety rule out there covering this very subject, and a visibly pregnant rider would be challenged by the op before boarding.
But this begs the question - how many women participate in thrill ride related activities (or anything else for that matter...) before they realize they're even expecting? I guess the Lord made women the strong protective package they are for a reason!
And IvyRose-MissX, I failed to say earlier- congratulations and good luck! We'll keep the seats warm for you till you're ready!
I also wonder, as a side topic, if we might hear from any current or former ride ops here with an embarrasing or funny story about challenging a pregnant woman who turned out to be just...well... not pregnant!

Congrats! My wife is also pregnant. She is due sometime in September. So she will be able to also enjoy the parts we normally don't get to enjoy like the whole atmosphere of the park. able to listin to all the diffrent sounds. all that good stuff. We have two kids and last year was there first time to the point. and trust me they will be back come summer time!
