I saw a local TV station reporter ask for permission to use a photo of Millennium Force about 1/5 of the way up the lift hill. Without the caption, no one would even know it wasn't just a still shot of a moving train.
And yes - the demand for refunds is outrageous on Twitter. So many will need to be made whole today.
Outage was around 2 hours. Caused by a car hitting a power pole. Vid on twitter shows a line or transformer smoking on CP drive bordering the main parking lot. Not sure if that was the cause or further down...
Not a super long outage thankfully,. Only real issue I see was it appears that sky rides generator was smoking.

That's fantastic compensation for a two hour outage!
Seems like all the rides e-vaced as normal. MF must have got its generator going and got the train that was stopped over the lift. Sky Ride generator seemed a lot smokier than I remember (I was by south sky ride station during 2003 blackout when they got it started, not much smoke ), but guessing that is now just part of its charm. I'm Sure guest who were stuck and e-vaced were also justly compensated.
So much ado about nothing more than likely.

Yeah, guest service folks had to address the throngs of people using bullhorns. Tickets are being revalidaded for any day until Labor Day.
So what about those who have season passes? We should get a refund on part of the pass price because of those two hours of lost ride time! Make season pass holders whole!

Proud to have fathered a second generation coaster enthusiast destined to keep me young at heart and riding coasters with a willing partner into my golden years!
It even made ABC world news (the 6:30 show)...."scary moments at an Ohio amusement park today...", and of course they showed shaky footage of the people stopped on the MF hill.
Thought and prayers to all of those touched by this tragedy, and on Memorial Day no less.
"Where were you...when the roller coasters stopped a runnin'....
That Memorial Day..."
