It's plausible tho. One coaster could be an extreme, record breaker-esqe coaster. Maybe not "the tallest" or "the fastest" but certainly extreme like Maverick was. The other could be a family style coaster. It would fill the void left by removing a family coaster (DT) but wouldn't leave crazy coaster lovers disappointed because there would be the other new one. Not that CP cares but it would increase their coaster count despite losing one (again assuming they would remove DT). Personally this would be a great way to introduce a family type coaster to the park, because it would be tough for CP to promote that type of ride on it's own. Look back at the recent coaster additions; they've all been extreme, scary (if you don't like anything besides a tame coaster), and often time record breakers. It would alomost be a let down if CP builds a family coaster after a 5 year gap between that and Maverick. But building two coasters could negate all of that. It would be expensive but not impossible.
Impossible, no...but extremely improbable. I couldn't see CP worrying about upsetting a handful of enthusiasts if they put in a family coaster only. I would even go so far to say that some people on this site would probably appreciate the steps the park is making to promote a family atmosphere. I know I would.

I've read quite a bit of the postings on here and you are right, even the most hard core coaster enthusiasts can appreciate a nice family ride. But I think even average fans might say "after five years of no coasters, we get this?" in regards to a family style coaster.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know of a park that has gotten two roller coasters in one year before? I can't think that it's happened too much, but then again my knowledge is really only limited to Cedar Point and Kings Island
Six Flags Ohio, 2000. They built three.

According to this, Magic Mountain also opened 3 in one year.

Not only did they build 4 in 2000. But they also built one in 1998 and another in 2001. 6 coasters in 4 years. Simply insane.
