Plus Size Riders - Smaller Rollercoasters and Other Rides

Not sure how tall you are but sounds like we may have similar body types and the only thing i have failed to fit on is Wicked Twister.

GO IRISH!!

I'm about 6'2. I didn't think it would be a problem and then I started reading about other peoples experiences that weigh less. But that's what I figured. It will be a very successful vacation if I only fail to ride wicked twister.

You got a few inches on me and I may have a bit bigger of a spare tire than you do so don't worry to much. When it comes to MF or TTD the seat belts can vary from car to car tho, I was there earlier this year and we got into a train on Dragster and I was able to buckle my own belt. Because of a malfunction we had to get out of that train and were put into another one which i needed the ride op to buckle it for me.

GO IRISH!!

I have good sized thighs, but also a considerable gut, so I am not sure how that compares. I'd wear thin shorts, your thighs may be an issue. I was an inch off MF, and 2 on the TTD. Raptor I think was a gut issue, and Gatekeeper I stuck to Row 4 and never had an issue. Windseeker the seat was tight, and had to have the op fasten the belt.

I just got back from a four day trip to CP and I learned that if thighs and hips are your issue slide forward in the seat not all the way back as has been previously suggested . The seat belt will be higher on your waist than normal but it will get you in. Worked for me and I was able to ride everything but WT - but there it was really close, being female that chest area is what did me in.

Hello! I'm worried about fittingmyself and I'm going with a group of friends and I don't want to embarrass myself.I'm 5'2 and wear a size 18 in pants and weigh 225. Most of my weight is in mystomach and thighs. However, I fit on EVERY ride and roller coaster at SixFlags Great America (X-Flight and Raging Bull were the only tight squeezes),Disney World, and Universal Studios Orlando. I've been reading some commentsabout rides that makes me think I'll fit, but then others that make me think Iwon't. Can anyone give me any advice on rides I should definitely stay awayfrom? Thank you!

I'm a little taller and weigh a little less but size 18 also. I haven't had a problem with any rides but I've never been on Top Thrill Dragster and the last time I was on Mantis was years ago when I was much thinner so I can't really say for those two.

Thanks for this forum. I am a female, 5'3" and 250lbs. Regarding roller coasters, I stay away from the Blue Streak, the Magnum, the Millenium Force and the Top Thrill Dragster. I don't think I had a problem with the Mean Streak, but I don't like that coaster. Mine Ride was tight. Coasters that I do ride that I don't have a problem with are: Iron Dragon, Corkscrew, Gemini, and Maverick. I'm going to CP in a couple of days and want to try the Gatekeeper. The seats look plus size friendly, so will try one of the seats before I get in line. I always hate doing that, but it's less embarrassing than waiting in line and not being able to get on the coaster. Also, no problem with any of the water rides.

I'm a 5'8", 250lb woman with a large bust and a 47" waist. I fit on every ride except MF and TTD. I hadn't been in ten yrs and was worried. Raptor and Maverick were tight, but I was able to buckle the restraints no prob. I fit in the gatekeeper test seat with the regular belt but still chose row 4 (extended belts) for my own comfort. Blue streak had significantly less airtime stuffing my butt into the reconfigured seats, but I fit. Bottom line, the best way to enjoy Cedar Point is to drop some pounds. Finding out I couldn't ride MF sealed that deal. My goal is to be down 50-75 by next summer and worry if the restraints are too loose!

I would have to say Maverick is probably one of, if not, the most plus sized friendly ride in the park. I am 6'4" 250lbs and everytime i ride i have tons of room to spare. Ive also never seen anyone do the walk of shame on Maverick. Wicked Twister is getting to be a problem for me. I dont have much of a belly at all. The rest of the rides (minus CCMR) i have no problem on.

I have seen someone do the walk of shame on Maverick. The ride hosts tried really hard to help him in but it just wasn't working.

I'm 6'1 304 pounds 42 inch waist and was able to fit on everything except wicked twister because of my stomach...

I went in mid July. I am 6Ft, 290lbs, and a 42 inch waist. I have always been a big fella and thought I would be able to ride all rides based on what I read.

I could not ride TTD, or MF. I did not try Wicket Twister. I was also booted on Raptor, and Mantis, but those two were so close but the ride op wouldnt push. Oh well.

Why couldnt they install a seat belt that would allow people to ride if the other restrants work? Whats a couple of more inches?

I thought I'd add my experience here since I tried finding forums with personal experiences to figure out if I'd fit or not.

I went twice this year, I am 5'10", male, 260lbs with most of that weight in the stomach area. I was not even close to fitting on Wicked Twister, but I rode all the other rides. Millenium Force and TTD were very tight, and it was hard to buckle myself in. I likely would have not been able to ride some of the time if the ride ops weren't willing to buckle my restraint for me. There is a sign in these rides that you must buckle your own restraints, and I'm not sure how often that is followed. I went again at 245 lbs, and it was still a no-go for Wicked Twister, but I at least could buckle my own seat belt on the other rides without much issue.

CP should offer a reduced admission or refund voucher to any customer that gets all the way to the attraction, and finds it does not accommodate their size.

Being turned away excludes that attractions value from the ticket they have already paid for.

Dude, don't go there.

If guests under 48" or over the age of 62 qualify for a reduced rate, why should oversized patrons be required to pay full price?

A ticket to Cedar Point is not a ticket to ride every last ride in the park; it is a ticket to gain entry into the park and to ride any rides that guest is not otherwise prohibited or unable to from riding.

Or:

Why should guests over 48" have to pay full price, since they can't ride all the rides?

Why should pregnant women have to pay full price, since they can't ride all the rides?

Why should a person with a cast have to pay full price, since they can't ride all rides?

Why should someone with a brace have to pay full price, since they can't ride all rides?

Why should anyone have to pay full price, since no one person entering the park can ride all the rides?

I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.

Are you kidding me? Why do people feel they should be discounted for everything. I am so tired of people whining because they can't fit on rides.

No, these people just need to get a gym membership

You're admission is admission through the gates, that's it, anything else is fair game for you to do.
