Planning a 2 week trip to CP in May and need hotel advice.

Yeah, two weeks is a long time, but I could handle it. There's so much to do around Sandusky other than Cedar Point. Even though CP is mostly what I would be doing.

Back to the topic, I've stayed at the Red Roof in Milan, hotel of choice considering I get an AARP discount and it's close to the dragway where my husband likes to race his F150 Lightning.

The hotel is comfortable and clean, has a pool and continental breakfast.

Wow, and I thought my 4 day trip to CP in May this year was going to be long.;)

I would love to take the kids to the Norwalk dragstrip. Do you know if they will be doing any racing in May?

My son and I stayed at the Huron Microtel. It is about 20 minutes from the point. It was clean and the pool was open 24 hours when we were there over Memorial Day.

There is tons of stuff to do in the area. We really like to visit Put-In-Bay when we get the chance.

Wow, I just checked Red Roof's site and for May 9-13 I am coming up with a rate of 35.99 a night and that includes cont. breakfast.

Wish it was like that all summer, lol.

may i suggest one of the resorts that are in cedar point? breakers, sandcastle, cedars.

I really want to stay at Hotel Breakers in a lakeview suite but my kids swear it is haunted and won't budge.

I heard it is too but who knows.

I just noticed that they put up the packages for BE and it is 189.99 for the package when I am going.

That is AWESOME!!

If you are looking to stay on a budget, I recomend the Best Western Cedar Point Area. The staff are friendly, the Perkins inside is clean, and has good food. The pool is nice, and the rooms are clean and modest.

If you DON'T have a budget, stay at Castaway Bay! :P

I believe drag racing begins in April, so you should be able to take your kids to see some racing in May.

Norwalk is one of the nicest tracks we've been to.

I will talk to you closer to May and see what you hear by then.

Thank you so much!!!

My first trip to Cedar Point this year, my uncle is putting us up for three nights at the Great Wolf Lodge. It may not be real close to CP, but I enjoy it.

He must be rich as that place is minimum 169.00 a night.

Have you been there before?

Kalahari is opening very soon and is going to be so much better and I think will be a little cheaper on certain rooms.

The waterpark is going to be HUGE compared to Great Wolf Lodge.

I don't know if you are allowed to post links here so I will just tell you to look up Kalahari Resort on the web to get an idea of how awesome it is going to be.

Great Wolf is fine for a one day thing but I think you will become rather bored after that.

Castaway Bay is SWEET. Spent a night there last week. I don't know how it compares to Great Wolf, as I have never stayed there.

He's a Physician at Firelands Regional Medical Center.

Yes, I have been to the GWL six times.

Thats an easy one.We always stop at the Clarion Inn in Sandusky. Its reasonable and has a nice breakfast at a regular sit down restaurant. They have an indoor pool and all the usual ammenities.

Castaway Bay beats the shorts off of Great Wolf Lodge but Kalahari is, at least from the way it is looking, going to be some serious competition.

I heard there are a couple more big boys wanting to get in on the Sandusky action. I heard this from the Kalahari folks so I think they have a pretty good feel on the situation.

Sandusky just may beat Wisconsin Dells in becoming the biggest indoor waterpark capital of the world.
