With such a wild winter as far as storms go, and another major storm hitting tomorrow I'm getting a bit worried. I'm no construction expert but with only two months remaining there is still only dirt at the Planet Snoopy site. This weather certainly doesn't help by all means. I know its no coaster which takes much longer to construct but two months just seems like no time at all when you consider the park has been closed since October.

The majority of Planet Snoopy is concrete [insert concrete jungle joke here]. The rest is electrical and plumbing (already done I believe), a couple small structures (doesn't take very long), and the rides (all prebuilt; carnivals pull this off every week).
I would not concerned.

^I agree. Once the weather straightens out a bit, I think we will see quite a bit of grading and concrete pouring. After that, everything will go pretty quickly. With the other indoor upgrades going on, it makes more sense to wait for better weather for Planet Snoopy construction while crews are doing all the indoor work now.

Were any of the P.S. rides built by Intamin? That could be the biggest prediction factor on whether they will be open or not.
^ - its hard to tell. I see the pole you are talking about, but I'm not sure that is Skyscraper or something else. I wish Sandusky would get better weather so we could see this stuff.

I will be! This will be my first visit in 2 years, and I'm really looking forward to taking my 3 year old there! We will be there on May 10th rain or shine. My wife is looking forward to taking our 1 year old there and trying out the "private areas to feed" and the restaurant for kids. Long live Snoopy!
I really don't think they're putting anything off. Both areas don't require much work. I'm guessing once the weather is a little more reliable, foundations will start appearing for both areas. The majority of the work will take place very quickly. You have to remember that Maverick's steel construction started in late July and ended in mid October. Planet Snoopy is a much, much smaller project.

Don't worry about Planet Snoopy not opening on time. Here is something I was told by Bill Davis CEO Universal Studios about The Simpsons project "we don't look at it as 10 8 hour days from opening we look at it as 10 24 hour days from opening." Not saying that The Simpsons open in 10 days. :-) Cedar Point is really good about opening projects on time. Maverick was not by fault of CP.
