Today at 3:09 PM they started lifting the top of the bunny hill into place on the webcam.

Leslie that little building already had a thread.

Looking at the webcam, it looks like Zbusta got it pretty close with this idea. Minus the zero-g roll of course.

Keep up the good work guys!
Mechanical Engineer: Dont mess with us, we design your coasters.
Yeah I really thought it would be kinda cool if they had one like that there, but the Top arch piece was laying right there next to it so that quickly proved that theory wrong. But i guess the supports were right:)
Looking at the camera today, you cannot see anything like before, so I won't be surprised if they move the camera to a different spot. This is really awesome that the construction is moving this fast as it is.
I wouldn't count on them moving the camera. Its still pointed toward the vast majority of the site, and we're only missing a relatively small portion that they're working on now. I really doubt they're worried that we're gonna miss 2 or 3 days of track installation.

I'm sure the camera is set there for time-lapse on their part too. So, moving the camera would defeat that whole purpose. I doubt they're going to move it.
I think that the camera itself is a teaser. There is a lot of space not covered by the camera: The pond area, all the track by the Adena truck and along the fence, not to mention all the track that has been laid that isn't visible. Oh, and what good is the webcam if it has track pretty much going right through the center of it?
I'm sure they have a separate camera set up for their own time lapse that would capture the entire, or most of, the construction area.

Gee, thanks. I just mentioned it because I saw it in a link from this thread. But I guess I'll post in that one since it's so serious to ask a question about one little building. I didn't realize that that little building had its own thread!!!!!!!!!!!! Stupid.

HaHa I forgot my ;) apparently Leslie I'm sorry. I meant it kinda sarcastically because I think it's silly that it has it's own thread. *** Edited 8/22/2006 5:07:39 PM UTC by Tonyblackjack***
Right. One little building with its own thread...What the hell? It doesn't require that much discussion!
Here's mine: :-)

I don't know if anyone brought this up, but the supports in the original picture that Zbusta used are off on the left. There are duplicate supports from a different angle. So, for those trying to do a mock-up using that picture, be careful to take that inter consideration. There are only 2 sets of V supports, not 4.
I know that this is because the pictures were morphed together, and the original editor probably got them as close as possible. Great job none the less.

Yeah I noticed that a while back. It was how, whoever put the aerial picture together, it was spliced together to get the full project area. I know its not a complete accuate picture of the area but you get the general idea of what track has already been laid out. Does anyone know if there has been another, more accurate, aerial picture of the whole area made from the original shots. Yes i know there is not 4 "v" supports. I didn't make the photo, but if i had the program to do it i would certainly try. *** Edited 8/23/2006 7:27:49 AM UTC by Zbusta***
I was the one who patched them together... it was rather hard to get them to line up perfectly because Walt obviously couldnt stay in on spot in a moving plane... so the angles dont match up. This is as accurate of an aerial shot as I could patch together. Its also the most up to date. Walt, Helicopter next time haha! ;)

I wasn't saying it wasn't done well or anything like that. In fact, it does give a great perspective of the construction area. I was just pointing out the fact that there were double-footers for those who were trying to do a mock-up.

Yeah i know BGRoodog, I scratch the"more accurate" comment,it is accurate and quite hard to get them all lined up pefectly or so that the picture as a whole looks perfect, personally i am not too worried about the extra footers, i'll just work around it. you did a good job on that as well. Thanks.... and to BirdofPrey00, thats cool I didn't take that as a bad thing. I understood what ya meant by it. :) *** Edited 8/24/2006 6:31:01 AM UTC by Zbusta*** *** Edited 8/24/2006 6:32:38 AM UTC by Zbusta*** *** Edited 8/24/2006 6:34:53 AM UTC by Zbusta***
Call me prejudice, but so far the track work hasn't offered anything of interest or mindblowing like every single other ride at cedar point (imo). There has to be some unique configuration of the trains or something is there that no one is getting. I refuse to believe that Cedar Point would add a small launched coaster with a couple tight turns. There must be a catch...
