for some reason this inspired me to watch a video of sheikra...wow..that coaster is amazing!
Just a thought. I was there wed, and I was looking at the supports, and they look pretty beat up. well maybe not beat up, but scrached and stacked on each otherI wonder if this is going to be like Expo Everest or Volcano the blast coaster, where some of the supports are covered. Not saying that this is what is going to happen, but it was just a though.
if you think about it. you could make the longest rollercoaster in the shortest amount of space, by stacking the track on each other. I know that more than likely someone has already thought of this, but it was somthing that has been bugging me for the last few days.

That sounds ominous. :)

Do you ever get the impression that we're just killing time here until August?

as much as i want to know what it is, when we find out, its going to be sorta a let down too. ya know, its sorta like the off-season for my since i'm so far from a theme park right now. so, following the construction is awesome. hopefully it will carry all winter too so i stlil have something to occupy my time. :)
what if there is no water involved and instead its lava or slime?! lol im kidding of course. It sure does look like they digging trenches / small ponds for water to be placed in. i personally dont want to get wet on the ride... why? because the water STINKS so bad. :( I wish they used filtered/treated water that actually looked like it could be fun to get splashed with hah

You have my sincere sympathy. As someone who lives within 200 miles of 50 coasters or more, I can't imagine what that's like.
I wonder if there will be a drop-off in Pointbuzz visitors after CP announces the ride. Probably not, as this will still be the best site to watch all the construction. (Answered my own question.)
I guess this is as good a place as any to say how much I truly love this site. I'm 38 years old, and I never participated in a forum or a chatroom or anything before I discovered Pointbuzz. Now, I'm totally addicted. I have to check at least 2 or 3 times a day to read all the threads and see if any new articles or pictures got posted. So thanks, Jeff and Walt. :)

Amen to that! I worked CP last year, and this how I know all the little bits and rumor floating around the park.

ha ha - thanks ensign. i grew up in northeast ohio and since then have always lived near several theme parks. NYC is close to several too. just so happens that 3rd world island nations in the caribbean aren't too big on theme parks. well, that could be because a theme park might take up the entire island. LOL!!
i already hit up great adventure this summer and CP is coming in august. so, i'll be good.
i concur though that this site is great. i visit it more than 2-3 times a day to keep current on everything. i love the days that have picture updates. :)
Before visiting this site for the first time, i really had no idea that there was going to be a coaster in '07. I have not yet gone this year to witness the construction. I was mainly interested in what cedar point was going to have for the next season and was curious as to when there was going to be another coaster since it has been 3 years. Through a series of links on google, i was brought here and now I am hooked. As halltd and Ensign have said, i visit this site at least 2 or 3 times a day to get the newest information on the best park on the planet. Thanks for keeping me in the loop everyone!
Sorry, halltd. Guess I imagined you were born and bred on the islands and had seldom if ever been to a park. Sort of like an Amazon native with a cherished picture of an automobile, and you know he's never gonna lay eyes on one, let alone drive it. :)
Just out of curiosity, do you do humanitarian work or work for a non-profit or something? Don't answer if you don't want to!
You could put a park on Haiti, now that they've gotten rid of all their trees. :(

Wouldn't it be cool if it was inverted? And yes, in case you didn't know, Intamin does make inverted coasters besides launched ones (like WT):
