Parking pass windshield policy!

I just got off the phone with Dorney and they said atleast for this year parking for Dorney is still part of the season pass. That's why I switched to Dorney last year. When did CP stop putting it on the Season Passes??

This season, hence a 7 page thread about the change.

MiAdv just added that option last season. I'm not sure if they are going back to stickers or not.

According to the Michigan's Adventure website, they will be stickers for next year.

I meant to say next season...2007. She said the season pass i bought for 07 for Dorney is still the parking pass, that they were not informed of any change to the policy.

It really amazes me that CF purchased parks that seem to have their technology down to a science, yet they're going back to the stone ages.

When I read things about King's Dominion having scanners and "automated" gates, I really have to wonder why the "best amusement park in the world" has such a difficult time with technology.

Here's what their website says:

A 2007 Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom Season Pass is valid for admission to Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom ONLY on any public operating day throughout the 2007 season. Parking fees at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom are included with a 2007 Season Pass purchase.

At Dorney, parking is included with a season pass.

It's always time for a Cedar Point road trip!

I wonder why Cedar Point or ever other Cedar Fair Park won't do that or buy the Parking Pass and put it on the Season Pass like what we have been doing the last few years?

In all honesty, I think that it would be cheaper for them to print it on your Pass then to have all of these Window Stickers made.

It seems to me that the cost of all these Stickers will cost more than what they would lose from people cheating the system. I'm sure it isn't cheap to have all of them made, and it would cost them nothing to have it printed on the Pass.
Just my thought though... I know that I don't know any of the numbers CP does, but it makes sense to me.

Yes, exactly what I was talking about.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Anyone else fondly recall the days when CP was just a good amusement park?
Remember? No short belts, parking pass controversies, irritable rent-a-cops, balky, overgrown thrill rides that work occasionally?

The days of two different log rides, big paddlewheel boats and employees from Sandusky (or at least the USA) who spoke English fluently pointed with one finger, and were not trained to constantly act as the "fun police" for park guests?

Big Dick can't retire soon enough.

You sure you're on the right website?

He wasn't talking about how Michigan is going to pound USC to pieces and had something relevent to the topic here, so I assume that yes, he was on the right website.

^I thought anything dealing with Michigan or Ohio State football was legit conversation on this site. ;)

As for the frustrations vented above by cptedsdisciple2, I don't think things are that bad, but I see where you're coming from. The "overgrown thrill rides" work more than occasionally, as CP handles them far better than any other park can.

The parking pass thing is what it is. They can make things a whole lot better if the sticker WAS transferable, but that would essentially be the same thing as having it on the season pass. You know, the real issue should be the exorbitant price of the parking pass, or has it always been that high? *** Edited 12/10/2006 10:51:42 PM UTC by ramboozle***

Hail to the Victors

I am wondering if they have changed or if they will ever change that one thing, and People will be able to put their Parking Pass back on their 2007 Season Pass. I can't Drive and that hurt me when I heard that. I went to the POINT 25 Times in 2006, so if I would go that many times this coming year I would pay or my family or friends will pay $250 before we would even get in the Parking Lot.

I'm not sure if it'll change or not for Cedar Point, but Kings Island just announced parking passes will be on the pass itself...no sticker on the windshield. Before today, the KI site had said it would indeed be a sticker, but a press release today has retracted that statement.

"Individual season-long parking is available for $34.95 and is applied directly to the pass upon processing. No window cling is required for parking privileges."
Full release at: http://www1.paramountparks.com/kingsisland/news/detail.cfm?item_id=476

edit:
I just did some checking around and it appears all of the former Paramount Parks have switched from parking stickers to having the parking back on the pass. Cedar Point's site still says stickers as of right now. *** Edited 1/24/2007 6:21:47 PM UTC by kirk06***

Wow!

EDIT: PKI does not offer the All-Ohio Parking Pass.

And I guess CP doesn't anymore either....

http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/admission/season_passes/prices.cfm

There's no buy option under the All-Ohio Parking Pass anymore.

I sure hope they plan on allowing the people that already purchased their parking passes to get them.

Ride on, MrScott!

Yeah, for some reason they haven't ever mentioned anything about the all-Ohio pass.

About the CP thing though, from what I've understood, you just have to bring in the $25 when you give them your parking voucher. Maybe KI is doing the same? I have no clue.

I sent in my $25 with my season pass renewal, and I got the All-Ohio Parking certificate back in the mail yesterday. It still states that it will be a sticker applied to the vehicle.
