I have seen anther video that was wonderful but I don't know were it was. I'm not sure but I think I saw it when some one posted it in this forum about the sound that this ride/launch will make because in the video they showed the hydrolics at the pullup working and you could hear it. If I find it I'll post it.
Don't forget about the twisted rails video. Thats the video Ryan was talking about. It has some good shots of the ride.

Everyone is saying the same thing 10-20 miles per hour, so I think we have setteled on that.

Yeah that's the video I was talking about. In that video it looks like it goes pretty fast over the top hat but in the video at Coaster Sims it goes slower over the top hat. TTD might go slower over the top hat because I think TTD's top hat is a bit sharper curved. I think the speed will not always be the same. I want it to go over pretty slow for the view. If it goes slow enough we might see a new record for longest amount of airtime.

Hey Cor (Fella), 60MPH would probably seperate the skin from your muscle... the radius up there doesnt look much more than 20 ft. So if i do the physics [carry the 3, divide by mass] it equals precisely HOLY OUCH! ;)
The final answer is 5-6mph, thats it folks!

I'm waiting for the day they balance a train on the top of the tower!

Thats a little slow isnt it? Even if you want a view, 5-6 miles per hour seems a little slow to me.
Another thing to be taken into consideration with this small of a top hat is that there will probably be quite a difference in speed while sitting in the front when you're at the top than if you're sitting in the back of the train. But this variation will probably be avoided somewhat by the short train length.

Enjoy your ride on the Big Bad Bug

Maybe they might throw a brake at the top of the tower and it completely stalls the train for a few seconds

TTD; it's nothin too short of an extremely tall coaster!!

This may sound dumb but I was reading someone else's post and it said you would red out going that fast over the top. But what is redout?
It basicly the opposite of a black out. In a black out, you lose bloodflow to your brain, while in a red out, blood is forced to the brain. This is caused by too many negative G's.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

It looks as though no one has been on Xcelerator here, except me (unless they're keeping their mouths shut...). It really feels like you're going to roll back on the top of the tophat. If you're in the front of the train, you get some air going up the front side of the TH, if you're in the back, you get some air on the back side of the TH. But none whatsoever over the top of the TH. Does that make any sense?
fruity, it makes perfect sense.

And MRinkSpot, what are you talking about the radius not being more than 20 feet on the top hat? Either your just ignorant to the fact or didnt think...Look at the tower, there are 8 sections of the tower, not including the top triangle section that is obviously larger than the rest of the sections of the tower. Now, 420 feet, divided by 9 is about 46 1/2 feet each section of the tower. Now look at the tophat...i would say the width of the tophat is most definately wider than the height of one section of the tower. So, the tophat has to be atleast wider than 50 feet, it just looks smaller becasue TTD looks so much smaller in pictures.

On Xcelerator, there is no doubt your going to make it over the tophat when your on the ride, and just because you dont fly over the top @ 60 mph doesnt mean you dont get air time...there still is a 420 foot drop to be had.

You get PLENTY of negative Gs going 5-8MPH on Xcelerator. Dragster's top hat's radius looks similar.

BTW- mystery parts have arrived for xcelerator. a few supports. I hope they're not supporting the upper half of the top hat : (

...or making it 200 feet taller

Excuse me, that's my best friend you're talkin about there. Just becuse he doesn't know the exact top hat radius, dosen't mean you have to be a really big fricking jerk about it. I think you owe him an appoligy!!.

Thanks Fella...

Steelrider33... if we want to really 'nit-pick' the so-called 'radius' isnt a perfect semi-circle. It is oblong, or elliptical. Debatably, the circular radius may only be 20 ft (and 20 was just a number i threw out there). Anywho, 20 or 50, why can't we all just get along? :) adios...

Im just saying that if your going to be saying things about the ride, then you need to stop being so horribly innacurate thats all. I dont mean to be a nit-pick, and nobody said it was a perfect semicircle. Im just saying, stop throwing numbers, and hold on to accurate facts instead. I just thought you were horribly wrong and I wanted to shove it in your face. Deal with it pal.

And fella, i think MrInkSpot can take criticism on his own, he doesnt need you to stand up for him. He's a big boy, plus, be quiet, you dont want me to get started with YOU now do you?
