Over the Top

How fast will TTD be going over the top of the top hat. My guess is somewhere around 60 MPH. Just a question/thought.

You will slowly go over the top, less than 10 MPH, I believe. If you were to go over at 60 MPH, you would painfully "red-out".

To get the awesome airtime at the top, I think you'll have to be moving faster than 10 mph. I'm thinking you'll be going at least 15 mph, but more likely 20 over the top hat. Whatever the numbers are, I'm sure you'll be thinking it's just right when you're sailing over the top. See you in line in 85 days.

The radius of the tophat is so small that it takes very little speed to get air...and too much speed would be harmful. I assume that it will be similar to Xcelerator in that it will crest the tophat at 5-10 mph.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

From what I've heard Xcelerator feels like you just about to stop when you get to the top.

You'll slow somewhere around 10MPH maybe a little less, however it will only be for a fraction of a second, because you *will* be coming back down. :)

I only hope that we'll be going over slow enough to enjoy the amazing view!! If it goes faster than 15 m.p.h over the top; I'm afraid we wont be seeing much of a view at all!

My guess would be it will fly over the tophat at near 25 mph, causing some awesome negative g-forces.

Does anyone have a POV of XCELERATOR so we can get an idea of how fast it's going over? I've never been to Knotts so I wouldn't know.

it will be interesting to see how fast the train crests the top-hat. unless by accident, i doubt it'll be over 20 mph.

Your correct, I saw a report on Cleveland's WEWS Live On 5 yesterday. It did say that the train will crest the hill at 10mph.
