They are bringing back the Frontier Lift to connect to the monorail station they are building on the mainland, so they can expand the rides into the parking lot. I thought we've been through this! ;)

Seriously, I'd like to check that out. Seems to be an interesting development. Of course we always think that when we see ground work and then it turns into some sort of mundane utility thing.

Edit: Just looked at the pic of the footer you posted right next to MF. That is interesting!

I suspect you had a bad train or something, because as recently as last year it was in pretty great shape. I would be shocked if it deteriorated from that state to "brutally painful" over the course of a year, especially given how well HW care for their wood coasters.

Most coasters with the 2+2 PTC cars/trains are painful.

Just what is it about PTC trains that makes wooden coasters rough and painful to ride? I've never understood that.

The Voyage is still in my top 5...it's fricking awesome.

Is CP adding The Voyage in 2018?

I wonder what they'll do with the infield of RMCMS, it looked like crap with the boneyard and random garbage laying around it. I'd guess they have to do something with what is sure to be the premiere ride in the park. Seems like a lot of space for just queues, but they are going to need a lot of queues for this ride.

I wonder if the New Frontier Town will be without the Antique Cars. As much as i know kids love these rides, it seems to me that CP is willing to sacrifice these rides due to the low throughput and large footprint. They could put a nice flume there.

I rarely ride these but I love the look, sound, and smell of them. Hope they don't do away with them but if they did a flume like you say I'd go for that. Only real reason I could see them getting rid of the cars is that they fit the mid century Americana theme more than frontiertown, which is what they're overhauling.

That's how I feel about Millennium Flyers. Mostly because of where the lap bar fits between my thighs and stomach just right to pin me and punch me at the same time.

Actually, The Voyage is a perfect example in proving his point. I rode it for the first time since it's inaugural year just last week and it was brutally painful. That ride is not the same. It went from a 5 on my Coasterbuzz rating to a 2. I would not be surprised if Holiday World's next major project was an RMC conversion of The Voyage.

The Voyage is and most likely forever will be my favorite wood coaster. I’ve never had a brutally painful ride on it. Sure it’s bumpy but it’s that tolerable bumpy that all wood coasters should have. Provides an out of control experience. Not to mention it’s the best night ride I’ve ever ridden. But I’ve never had a problem with PTC trains.

It's because PTC doesn't have articulation on their trains, whereas nearly every other manufacturer, including RMC, GCI, and Gravity Group have articulation.

It's very possible, it is a wooden coaster after all and they never give the same ride twice. In its inaugural year I rode it on a nice crisp 60something degree morning. Last week I rode it on a scorching 90something degree afternoon. I'm sure that was a huge factor. But the ride seemed to be overly aggressive. I witnessed a small child hit her mouth on the lap bar on my train and was bleeding. Of course, as a dentist, I consoled the dad but advised him to have the girl checked out because with trauma like that there's a lot of risk to erupting permanent teeth, tooth necrosis, ankylosis, and other skeletal complications. Sorry, got too off track and nerdy there, but I'm sure she's alright and that it was just a minor bump.

Every coaster that was RMC'd was cut down and made smaller, layout did not follow the same route. Cedar Point it taking a coaster that had an awesome layout but turned to garbage because wood coasters of this size got too rough, plain and simple.

This coaster is pretty much following the exact same layout, fabricated taller with awesome inversions and outer bank turns, this will make the Dinn fabricated wooden coaster the best roller coaster in the park, hands down.

You will see 2 hour waits just to get on this thing. To get a great amount of rides on this for 2018, you will need to get a Platinum Pass so you can get in and ride this thing 3 to 4 times before the GP enter the park.

It's funny: I completely disagree with the first 2 paragraphs here but completely agree with the last 2.

El Toro having a turn around right after the lift hill is actually a pretty classic thing to do. Coasters like Grizzly at Kings Dominion have a slight turn before its drop. El Toro, which for the record I haven't been on yet, seems to have an insane layout, having a turn around at the top of the lift doesn't seem like it should detract from that whatsoever.

On the flip side, Mean Streak had a terribly boring layout, specifically on the second lap around the track. The long, meandering turns, and slow pace made it very boring. That was especially true in the latter years when they added the trim on the first drop. I can only speculate that even early on that that lap was pretty forceless.

But yeah, the other 2 paragraphs are pretty spot on. This is going to be the most popular ride in the park for quite a while. To me, this is going to be a mix of Maverick and Millennium: great height and speed of Millennium mixed with the twists, turns, and inversions of Maverick. The park is getting something that fans have wanted for a long time and they really didn't pull any punches.

I wish the wild turkeys would come back to Frontier Town!

Voyage is prone to all of the problems any other wood coaster is, in terms of bad wheels, track maintenance, etc. But while the ride is certainly the most aggressive ride I've ever been on, and not one I'd sit on for hours, I wouldn't describe it as intolerably rough. And to bring it home, it has never been as bad as Mean Streak.

But yeah, Intimidator does kinda fit that mold. I feel like this will be more like

(Magnum + Maverick) / Mean Streak
