The point isn't that they made no money, the point is they probably didn't make enough money to justify keeping them.

The money that made was used to pay our wages as well as all the cables and miscellaneous parts and rubber bands they had to keep paying for.
And it's not like it was busy all day long. One busy hour won't cut it.
Thus, they made no money, and I stand corrected.

The carnies were scary, but I rode this one in Pigeon Forge.
I also took advantage of that $5 deal for Ripcord at Kings Island.
I'm lookin at it this way:
7 dollars to ride.
Probably an average of 40 riders per day if not more.
So they're bringing in 240 dollars a day, if not more.
Then you need to pay an employee to operate it for the whole day, so thats $84.
Then lets say that we need to replace 4 rubber bands a day. (I doubt it was even that much). I don't know how much each rubber band costs but we'll say 10 dollars which is probably really high.
So thats 240-84-40 = $156 dollars per day.
There's probably 130 days a season so thats $20,280.
I'd say they went through about 4 winches, maybe 5, last summer. I don't know how much those cost Again, I don't know how much they cost so I'll guess 2,000 dollars.
So in total the trampolines netted about 10,000 dollars.
Maintenance doesn't really cost extra because even without the trampolines maintenance would still be paid. I'm not sure about insurance either but I'd guess that the park has some sort of insurance that covers everything and it isn't on a per ride basis.
I agree that the trampolines probably made next to nothing. But they also probably cost next to nothing to install.
This bad boy on the other hand is probably going to cost some dough to install - it must need a pretty deep foundation at minimum.
I'm just wondering if it's going to be like Vertigo. Yea, I know it fell down, but would they ever have made enough money to justify what they spent on it? It probably makes more sense to have it at CP than at VF though with all the hotel guests being there.

^$30,000 for the Trampolines. I wouldn't call that next to nothing.
Well when you pay nearly 20 million almost every 2 or 3 years it is.

30,000 is a big number to an individual like me, but a pretty small number compared to what they spent on something like Vertigo, which was something ridiculous like $1 million. :)

The trampolines have been there for more than the three years needed to pay for them with my VERY conservative estimates.
Trampolines has not made $30,001 to make a $1 profit.
Think of all the injuries.

Last time I checked, insurance wasn't free.

I don't think they care much about Extreme Trampoline and its profitability. It's that Skyscrapper (a much bigger investment) didn't make money at Valleyfair.

Thanks DBCP. Insurance costs a lot of money. Give it up, Randall.
And Extreme Trampoline Crew? No one was hardly over there.
