No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I just accepted my job for Eerie Estates. This will be my first year and im so excited! I will be staying in the dorms for the full two months because i live 4 hours away. Is their internet connections in the dorms or anywhere because i will be taking my college classes online during the week. Also i was wondering If food would be provided or would i need to bring a mini fridge and food?

no food provided... there is a small store on site, they sell hot pockets roman and stuff like that... and McDonald's is in walking distance... on and the new DQ that opened isn't too far there is a small subway in the employee rec area, but its not opened on weekends. I'm thinking about getting some food and cooking at the apartment if i stay there again this year.. anyone is welcome to come eat and party with me lol

I accepted mine too! I also got an offer to be a Ride Host starting on August 15th, and since I would be heading moving to the dorms a few weeks later anyways, I figured I might as well get paid doing something else. I signed up to work for the Toy Factory, mostly because I am rather thin and would look perfect in oversized doll outfits. This will be my first time working at Cedar Point and my first job ever so it should be interesting to say . Any tips for a new employee?

Welcome! I'm counting down the days and stupid exited! if I were to give any tips it would be these

COMFY SHOES!! I went cheap last year and regretted it, you do a lot of moving around! being in a house VS a zone might not be so bad though.

I preferred to talk many smaller breaks during the night opposed to a few longer breaks. I was lucky and had a place very close to my area I could take my break. because of this I never used the zones break area. I'm not sure what my leads thought of this but they didn't seem to mind. I didn't abuse it.

Keep hydrated even on cold rainy days drink lots of water, you will feel sore the next morning if you have done your job right the list think you want is to feel dehydrated when you get up. Its like a really bad hangover with out the fun of drinking the night before.

I had my stash of things in my little break area I put there before I got into makeup. My necessities were a bottle of water for every hour I was in the zone. (Like I said keep hydrated) Throat lozenges (of you scream as much and as loud as I did last year, you wont be able to talk in the morning) Excedrin (you will be in pain and the caffeine can help keep your energy up)

If you have any other questions feel free to add me.

So very true. Just about every other part of your body will ache after a night of scaring, so if you can spare your feet, all the better. One option is to go ahead with the cheap shoes and buy a nice pair of gel insoles for like $10. Before I switched to more durable boots, I was usually lucky if a pair of shoes held up all season because I do a lot of darting with sudden stops and directional changes. I could simply buy another pair of cheap shoes the next year and transfer the insoles.

Hydration is also very important. I actually bought one of those water backpack things that hikers use for this year. Although I still need to figure out how it's going to work when it's under my costume.

The one thing I advise my zone to do every year that I think too many people overlook is pre-game stretching. 5 minutes spent stretching before we go out at night can prevent a lot of the soreness and pain you'd feel later on.

its been done before, yozo had a camelbak when we were in fear faire and it worked nicely because the tube would fit all the way into his mask.

I'm working on a way to run mine down the inside of my shirt sleeve. Should work out pretty well, except refilling it will be hard if it's under my shirt. I'll likely keep a water bottle on standby for that reason.

I never use the break area and I encourage others to do the same, find a small area to grab a breather and a drink then get back to scaring.

I probably take 15 minutes worth of break throughout the night.

Why, Arrrrby's of course! :)

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
