Off Topic But Very Important (terrorism)

OK, I know it want the camp David accords but I think there was some other peace thingy signed today. My mind is drawing a blank tough.
Update: WARNING, contains disturbing news...

The pilots of the first airplane were shot, all but one flight attendant was shot, she tried to call an emergency number on her cell phone, was able to give some info, and then was stabbed. The terrorists on plane 2 were armed with knives. Also, President Bush will stop at nothing and may, if it comes to it, wipe out an entire country that holds any responsibility for this trajedy. The fourth highjacked plane was a failure, they did not succeed in flying into the Pentagon..

Relating to the rising gas prices...

I heard from my mother that gas in Ann Arbor, Michigan rose up to $6.00 a gallon for unleaded!

Ouch! In Indianapolis by midday, the prices had gone up to $4.00 a gallon.

Up in NE Indiana, it hadn't gone up yet. Anyone not wanting to pay out of the you know what got in their cars and fille dup everything possible with gas. I heard that the line for gas in Ft. Wayne was in as excess of 2 hours!

Cedar Point's release will shock you in 2002.

I'm too shocked to speak about it. This is truly a horrific tragedy. I pray for the lost ones, and I also pray that things will get better, and life will go on.

Right now even the government is believing that this the work of Bin Laden. Everything I have heard so far points to the him, even a faction of his in Britain giving a warning about this.

I like Bush and his resolve. I hope everyone saw the footage of him when he arrived, it looked like he was about to open a can of presidential whoop @ss. His demeanor I hope sent a message that we are not screwing around here. He also said that we will not only seek out and punish the terrorist responsible but those harboring them would be held equally responsible. I really like the support other countries (beside those taliban and certain Palestinian fruitcakes) are giving. Terrorism and those who harbor it will not stand!

With gas $4-$6 do you think the bonus/halloweekend crowds will be fewer?

As of right now the gas price here in Metro-Detroit is $2.50 and going up as we speak...

Supply and Demand is why gas prices are skyrocketing also. Right now the supply is normal yet the demand is incredibly high . If Crude Oil prices increase also I don't doubt at all it could get that high.

Actually, this week is the 23rd anniversary of the Camp David Accords.  I believe that they took place over a period of somewhere around September 9th to the 16th in 1978.  These negotiations were major in attempting to establish a foundation for peace in the Middle East.  One can't help but think that it is linked somehow, of course there is also the whole 911 emergency thing.

Watching local Fox 2 News here in Detroit, certain spots have hit $5.00/gallon!

Ugh. Someone will be walking to school in the coming weeks.

Also, worldwide economy is in a downfall. Japanese markets delayed their opening. New Zealand market dropped 7% volume. This isn't just an American tragedy, but in terms of the global economy, a global tragedy.

How can we declare war on an enemy we don't know?

(trying to bring back in a bit of theme-park-isms) but DisneyWorld in Orlando was shut down. I don't understand that, why would they shut that place down?

CP crowds affected someone asked? You must understand, this is NOT good for our economy. Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow. Just looks at the gas prices.

DIPPIN DOTS!!!111 THEY ROXOR YUR WORLD!!1!
This is a global tragedy indeed, as the World Trade Center was a center for international commerce, not just the United States. That is a connection that I'm sure will be examined for weeks and months to come.

Our allies are standing with us, and many countries have already pledged not only support for what may come, but assistance for the tragedy itself so that as many lives can be saved as possible.

My thoughts on why to shut Disney and other major parks down - would you want them to become the third, fourth, fifth targets, full of innocent, happy civilians enjoying their vacations and days off? How about the people that are on vacation there from New York and wouldn't know about the horror until getting back to their hotels that night (the resort hotels are still open, by the way)? It is better to shut down for now, gather our thoughts and prayers, and regroup for what tomorrow brings, and what we bring to it.

Gas prices are not going to be pretty.  On the way home from work i heard on the radio it was $3.50 in indiana.  Just heard on CNN that ohio was one state to hit $5.00 gallon.  I'll see if that is true tomorrow.  Cars were sitting on the streets waiting for fuel.  My tank is full though for $1.69

My friend just recently went to check out the gas prices at our corner here in metro Detroit (he actually wanted to take pictures of the prices, assuming they were high).  Apparently, they are still at $1.79 here, but who knows how fast that can fly up.

Down the road from me its $1.45, and down the road a little more, it jumped a dime in an hour. I watched a fist fight at my gas station while I filled up my tank and the 2 others I bought from work (Yes I am part of the problem, not the solution, but I'm not paying $3 for gas... or maybe chance not getting any at all)

I heard on the radio that they shut down the oil refineries, not sure if its true or not, but at the same time I can understand not letting anything in internationally either...

I rode Blue Streak once and puked twice.

Here in East Lansing around 9:30 pm, gas prices were up to $2.19 a gallon.  The line was out into the street with cars waiting to get gas.

Indeed the USA has total support from us here, and i can tell you over here too the entire country is in a state of shock / disbelief and general state of mourning this morning. It's gunna be a very bleak day worldwide. Our country and government have pledged full support and we will be there fighting alongside you as always no doubt. And if it ever came to it, i am willing to fight for my country and our allies, and every free democtratic country on this earth.
God forbid it comes to that.
greg: Great Britian / England & United Kingdom are one and the same.
