Checkout the latest blog entry about Ocean Motion's new look in Demon Drop's old location.

Looks great, the lake and rockwork are so non-CP like, which is great. I'm so happy the park is really working on landscaping and themes.

Yeah, I like what they are doing with the area too. It's going to look nice. Can't wait to see it Opening Day! :)

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

Very impressed.

What a breath of fresh air to see Cedar Point investing the time, effort, and money to give this ride a fantastic new-look and feel.

This is positive in many different ways! :) Very happy for CP.

This just occurred to me. Having Ocean Motion moved to its new location and themed up will make Hurricane Hannah's seem a little less awkward... I am glad to see them refreshing an old ride like this rather than just plopping it down and calling it a day. Cant wait to see it all finished!

Awesome news! I'm with BGRooDoG, they could have very easily just put the ride up and been done with it. I am extremely glad that there are still people who care about themeing at Cedar Point, there is hope yet!

Now about those trees...or am I asking for too much at the moment. ;)

Now, now...patience. Water, rocks, and tress all in the same season? :)

Incidentally, I think it's rather neat they make a little model like that for this planning. Is there a miniature version of Cedar Point somewhere? :)

Well, there are a few other models in the Townhall.

Which are very cool, IMO...I was just surprised to see a model of this detail made for OM. Kudos to the old ride. See what a little theme does? For the past 20 years, zero interest in riding it. Now I guarantee you we will all be on it opening weekend.

I'm actually impressed that something so small is getting some pretty awesome decor. My only wonder, which everyone else knows...How long will this theming last...Everytime I think of CF and theming...bad ideas arise

Rocks? Water? We're not talking about intelligent lighting or advanced-capability Audio Animatronics here... :)

Dead Men Tell No Tales

The theming for this is rather simple and not much to maintain other then just replacing some wood here and there. All it is a filtered pool (like you see on STR or SRF) and fake rocks (Maverick, STR, and TC). It seems like they can handle that type of theming very easily. If this had fog, sound or special lights then I would worry, but for this not so much.

Well it looks like my favorite part of it hasn't gotten the Ashcroft treatment...unlike Viking Fury.

fingers crossed that it stays that way :)

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

I was just curious Break Trims, what did you mean by the Ashcroft treatment?

Wow, that's looks more awesome than I was expecting! +1 Cedar Point!

Look here

Apparently, Kings Island took similar "modesty" measures regarding the partially nude woman on the bow of Viking Fury last year.

*Wikipedia reports that it was Monica Goodling, and not Ashcroft that actually ordered the cover-up, so to speak. Learn something new every day...

Looks awesome! This whole setup will look fantastic in the front of the park. It rivals the old theming in front of the defunct Pirate dark ride at CP: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DDVVM5Mb7Uw/TDzuHS4uLHI/AAAAAAAABVY/XRkvwBPlhJo/s1600/Pirate-Ride.jpg

Kudos to the park on the theming. I'm actually looking forward to seeing this almost as much as Windseeker, in a way.

Well with the theming...I mean, think of The Crypt at KI..All the theming is covered up or not working...Disaster Transport, same deal...All of that is simple, yet they fail...With this, that pool I doubt will stay clean for long...I even think that'll be the fate of STR..I mean Snake River Falls doesn't look clean anymore does it :P

I'm very pleasantly surprised that they are giving Ocean Motion such a nice new home. Better than the original location in every way, I never thought they would do this, I was just expecting grass around the ride. Big thumbs up to CP for investing in the theming of Ocean Motion.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

This will definitely look pretty awesome, especially sitting right there next to the main gate. I suspect there will be a lot of people who think this is a brand new ride, which isn't a bad thing.
